Also coming to The Country Bookshop this week:

Lenore De Pree, author of "Ninety Brothers and Sisters," will be at the shop at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, to discuss her book about growing up poor in Appalachia. The book was written as a documentary because it was called "too unbelievable" to be a novel.

De Pree, who is also an artist, makes her home in the N.C. mountains.

Rhett Johnson, co-author of "Longleaf, Far as the Eye Can See: A New Vision of North America's Richest Forest," will discuss his book Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m.

Johnson, cofounder and president of the Longleaf Alliance, co-wrote the book with Bill Finch, Beth Maynor Young and John C. Hall.

Blending a compelling narrative breathtaking photography, the book invites readers to experience the astounding beauty and significance of the majestic longleaf ecosystem.
