The Moore County Chamber of Commerce has named Dana Garner the ambassador of the third quarter of 2012.

Garner is general manager of Sarvis Management Real Estate Services Inc. in Southern Pines.

"Dana has demonstrated the qualities of a true ambassador since joining the team," a Chamber news release said. "Dana's willingness to help out is always evident and without hesitation. She is a great proponent of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce and its members.

"Dana is personable and relates to all that she comes in contact with in a friendly and helpful manner. She is truly an asset to the Moore County Chamber of Commerce and the ambassador program."

Patrick Coughlin, president and CEO of the Chamber, said, "The ambassadors' overall goal is for business owners/ mangers to understand how much the Chamber appreciates their investment in the Chamber and just as importantly, in our community. It is no small task, and the Chamber could not accomplish the many things that we do throughout the year without key individuals such as Dana."

Garner said she was "thrilled" to be named Ambassador of the Quarter. She said the ambassador program is a "wonderful way for me to give back to the community. It is my pleasure and honor to take part in this program as it reaps big rewards. I accept the Ambassador of the Quarter with great pride and will continue to dedicate my time to the Moore County Chamber of Commerce."

Garner is a native of Moore County. She serves as a tutor for the Read Moore Center and is a graduate of the Moore County Leadership Institute (MCLI) and the Not for Profit Manage-ment Program in 2011. In addition to serving as an ambassador, Garner is a co-chair for the 2012 MCLI program.

Sarvis Manage-ment and Real Estate Services was established in February 1996 by Peggy Sarvis. Sharon Stevens purchased the company in August 2009.

Garner has worked for Sarvis Management since 2007 and became the general manager in 2009.

Sarvis Management is a full-service company specializing in long-term residential rentals. It also offers short-term vacation rentals.

The company was very successful in managing individual homeowners' properties during the 1999 and 2005 U.S. Opens and anticipates being just as successful in 2014.
