Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department is offering a youth cheerleading program for girls ages 5-12. Age is determined as of Oct. 16.

This program is for girls to have fun while learning cheers and routines. The cheerleading program will cheer for the boys' 11- and 12-year-old basketball league.

Practices will be held on Wednesday evenings, with games on Thursday evenings. First practice is Dec. 6, and the season will last until Feb. 21.

"Coaches are needed, so if you are interested, please indicate so at time of registration," says a spokesman.

A coaches' and parents' meeting will be held Nov. 15, at 6 p.m.' at Village Hall. Registration ends Friday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m.

Register in person at Village Hall or online at www.pinehurstrec.org. The cost of the program is $30 for residents and $60 for nonresidents.
