I have been a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in Randolph County for more than 18 years. The role of the GAL is to be a spokesperson for the rights of minors and children in our court system. The GAL is directly involved with the court cases involving minors.
I have represented many minors in court and have had a unique opportunity to view the judges involved. Rob Wilkins is an excellent judge. He is very concerned about the welfare of the children in court and is tough on the parents or their guardians. He patiently reviews reports and recommendations from social services and the GAL before deciding the case. He is fair, but strict, just what is needed.
Judge Wilkins expects the attorneys to be on time, act professionally, and be prepared for court. If attorneys have a problem with following the court rules or are not happy with the outcome of a case, please do not take it out on Judge Wilkins.
The objective of the court is to protect the rights of minors and be certain that they are in a safe and secure home environment. Rob Wilkins does a great job as judge. We need more like him.
This false negative advertising that his opponent, Jane Redding, is dishing out reminds me of our negative presidential election. It is unprofessional.

Wilkins is a partisan hack. How else to explain his use of the Republican-registered elephant symbol in a non-partisan race? A good judge would be more likely to list qualities like 'fair' and 'impartial on his campaign signs, rather than 'conservative.' Doesn't sound like someone willing to impartially adjudicate matters that come before him.
