A Carthage man faces drug charges after members of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Stoney Creek Drive and located and seized 6.5 pounds of marijuana, $1,300 cash and a stolen firearm, Sheriff Lane Carter said.

Officers arrested Mark Ray Knowles, 52, and charged him with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a place to keep a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.

Knowles received a $25,000 unsecured bond and was released.

The recovered firearm was reported stolen in 2002 in Moore County.
