Aberdeen police are seeking two armed suspects who robbed the Aberdeen KFC Tuesday night.
Police say two people, both believed to be black males in their 20s, entered the restaurant at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Police say one suspect was wearing a black hoodie and the other had on a purple hooded sweatshirt. Both men were armed with handguns.
Police say that after the suspects entered the restaurant, one went behind the counter and into ethe manager's office while the other herded staff into the back.
No customers were in the store at the time of the incident and was none of the seven employees were injured.
The suspects fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A K-9 unit from Southern Pines tracked the suspects through the woods behind the store before losing the scent behind Sandhills Furniture, police said.

Too bad they didn't take some of that great chicken...those dogs would have caught them in no time.

Both of the alleged criminals were wearing those darned hoodies.

Also glad no one was physically hurt, however psychologically is a different story, when robbers herd staff into the back sometimes it is to elimate witnesses.

Police say one suspect was wearing a black hoodie and the other had on a purple hooded sweatshirt. What's the difference between a hoodie and a hooded sweatshirt ?

I think that guy in the pic looks pretty suspicious.

How can dogs lose track of a KFC scent?
Courseaire 12 months ago
The police are misleading you - the K9s didn't lose the scent, they stopped to eat the chicken bones that were tossed and the suspects got away. These were two smart hoodies.
DoubleHeroides 12 months ago
@Courseaire: I’m just wondering why we needed to know that the subjects had two arms. I kind of figured that would be a given, it really isn’t much to go on. Now one armed subjects or even better, three armed subjects would have been something to look out for.
Courseaire 12 months ago
It was so we didn't confuse them with the guy from The Fugative or Dr. Octopus.
cantstandya 12 months ago
It's a conspiracy, they know that there will be a better chance to blend into the crowd wearing those hoodies, they need to outlaw hoodies to be worn inside of a place of business and if someone is wearing one consider them as a masked intruder and just shoot them.
clarabelle 12 months ago
"consider them as a masked intruder and just shoot them."..............
perhaps you can volunteer to stand at the door with your pistol.........then you can "get off" and shoot them at the same time!

AFCHIEF 12 months ago
@fugitive, Obama continually opens his mouth and invites comments. Remember the comments about the cambridge police acting stupid and then he had to comment about the Travyon Martin case. How about Obama stay off the View and late nite Tv and meet with some congressional leaders and solve some of the countries problems.
cantstandya 12 months ago
Just wondering if it is possible for them to pick up any DNA samples from items these criminals touch,if so it may come in handy later down the road, don't know really if that is possible?
emb6683 12 months ago
Not all criminals wearing hoodies are black. Mark Zuckerberg is a hoodie-wearing criminal, and he is white. But he doesn't stick a gun in your face to rob you, he just fails to publicly disclose information about his company before it goes public. So he and his insiders make billions, while other investors watch the price of the stock drop for two days.

Oh, the AF in AFCHIEF stands for "Air Force"? That explains a lot.
fugitiveguy 12 months ago
Chief it goes without saying Obama has been a horrible president, he has made a mockery of the office in ways which you outline. I just think comments about Obama's theoretical son everytime a black guy commits a crime seems a bit racist and reflects badly on conservatives. Friendly advice, not meaning to offend.
AFCHIEF 12 months ago
@Reg mantle, and the AF stands for Air Force, that explains a lot. Please explain!
Fugitive, no offense taken. Obama was elected to run and lead the country, but he seems tob moe interested in being a guest on talk shows instead of being a leader. But then again what did we expect from a guy who was nothing more than a professional drugged out student.

As one who along with the other THOUSANDS of Air Force personnel who deployed in place of Army personnel you have NO CLUE what are military personnel do on a daily basis.
Reggie_Mantle 11 months, 4 weeks ago
LOL. So easy to push their little buttons.
Calm down, Chief. I'm sure you and your boys back at the air conditioned base were JUST as manly as any Marine. LOL.
Heard this one?
An Army grunt stands in the rain with a 35 pound pack on his back, 15 pound. weapon in hand, after having marched 12 miles, and says, "I hate this ****!"
A Marine, up to his nose in the stinking, bug-infested mud of a swamp with a 65 pound pack on his back and a 15 pound weapon in each hand, after jumping from an aircraft at high altitude, into the ocean, swimming 12 miles to the shore, killing several alligators to enter the swamp, then crawling 30 miles through the brush to assault an enemy camp, says, "I love this ****."
An Air Force NCO sits in an easy chair in an air conditioned, carpeted office and says, "My e-mail's out? What kind of **** is this?"
Reggie_Mantle 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Tell each of the services to "secure a building":
The Army will post guards around the place. The Navy will turn out the lights, turn off the coffee pot, and lock the doors. The Marines will kill everybody inside and set up a headquarters. The Air Force will take out a 5 year lease with an option to buy.

AFCHIEF likes to act offended. He is one of those that slings mud then throws a hissy if someone spouts back. He also thinks anyone who is not his version of conservatism is a lib and must hate your country. It's sad most military are attention whores that want to be patted on the back for a volunteer career.
Thank a teacher, fire fighter, and many of the other careers that benefit the country. Military are not above other citizens and deserve as much respect as they give out.
skylinefirepest 11 months, 4 weeks ago
JD...in addition to being uncalled for that comment was untrue. "Military are not above other citizens"?? You've got to be freaking kidding! When Obama took great credit for killing Osama what was his risk??? He had no skin in the game and stood back after brave men went in to do the deed and took the credit as if he had been right there...what a barf bag he is!!! "Attention whores"???? I guess we now know who never served his country in any capacity, right?? What language would you be speaking now except for the valor of our armed forces?? Far as I'm concerned your comment makes you just another scumbag until retracted!!!

Somehow the subject matter of this article has been lost,Reggie_Mantle your right,I deserved to be called out on that one,I served like so many others and as a Marine we were fully aware of what the opinions were of the non serving civilians, what I forgot was we also were instructed to not take any of them too seriously,so for that I did get overly upset at some comments, but really need to focus now on what can be done to deter these criminals that seem to think this area is a new hunting ground, that what this article is about, not the military.

skylinefirepest 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Coffee...you don't need me to explain anything to you?? Apparently, you do! You are free today because others were willing to risk their lives FOR YOU!!! Yes, that definitely puts them ahead of the normal citizen. I put firemen, policemen, and rescue people in that same category and if you don't, YOU SHOULD! Doesn't matter whether they are volunteers or paid, now does it? There are several scumbags who post in the Pilot who hold the same view as you in that they pay lip service to those who serve until pushed and then it's the same old liberal viewpoint. Deb...Obama trashes himself....all I do is keep bringing it to people's attention!!

Hey Skyline.... . I really dont need you or anyone lecturing me about respect. I have my feelings in regards to what respect is and it goes the same for all. I do not bow down to a certain group of people. They signed up and as long as they do their job they are entitled to the same amount of respect as anyone else. No more and certainly no less.
cantstandya 11 months, 4 weeks ago
JD, You never did answer the question as to which one of your relations you were referring to when you used that "W" word, you seem to avoid it,or just trying to keep that a family secret,or is it you?,soon this will stop as they will grow tired of you ,me and everyone else who has commented on your stupidity, have you been looking for work this day,you know they will be asking you Tuesday.
geoffcutler 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Extra respect is given those willing to put their lives on the line for your life and your freedom to say the things you do. It's that simple. If you cannot see that, it is a lack of respect, not a same amount of respect.
JD 11 months, 4 weeks ago

" It's sad most military are attention whores that want to be patted on the back for a volunteer career. Thank a teacher, fire fighter, and many of the other careers that benefit the country. Military are not above other citizens and deserve as much respect as they give out."
1.) At least we were brave enough to stand up and VOLUNTEER to do a job with lousy pay, lousy hours, lousy benefits. Something you obviously WEREN'T brave enough to do.
2.) I am not an "attention whore" as you so elegantly put it, as a woman I am doubly insulted by the reference to someone who sells themselves.
3.) I STILL volunteer in service to my local community as a volunteer (read unpaid) firefighter.
4.) You are not qualified to stand judgement against me or any other member of the military. Keep your opinions of the military to yourself. Unless of course, you are brave enough to say it to me directly, which I am certain you are not BRAVE enough to do.
5.) Refer to 1.) if you still have any questions.

To The Pilot, it is way past time to remove JD from these threads. To everyone else perhaps ignoring this person would be best for all, his comments at the best of times have little merit and his intent seems to be to contribute nothing worthwhile while insulting those that do.
Reggie_Mantle 11 months, 4 weeks ago
"JD, and whose wife are you referring to as a whore?"
Reminds me of another joke:
A Marine and an AF pogue were at the barbershop. After the Marine had gotten his shave and haircut (high and tight, naturally) and the AF pogue had gotten his hair styled, the pogue got all indignant. "This hair gel you put on me smells terrible! My wife will think I've been inside a brothel!" The barber, embarrassed, looked over at the Marine and asked nervously, "is the aftershave all right?" The Marine said, "no problem, sir, my wife doesn't know what the inside of a brothel smells like."
Happy Memorial Day, zoomie. All in good fun...

Good Lord. I just came on here to read about yet another crime committed in our area and all I see is people behaving badly with the name calling and snarky remarks and not discussing the seriousness of the situation with crime in this area. We are NOT safe anymore even going to the store. This is definitely not a topic to be used to hurl insults and make smart remarks. I think the Pilot needs to monitor these blogs even more and delete postings from people making rude and argumentive remarks.

Must admit, I'm surprised this hasn't been shut down, Since it's inception, I don't remember anything like this. Maybe they all left early for Memorial day weekend.
Coffee, it isn't my opinion, really, it's a universal truth. If someone steps in front of a bullet to save your life, sacrificing their own to protect yours, they are owed a debt of gratitude by you. If you do not believe that to be true, I think we would like to hear why you think that.
DoubleHeroides 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Just for my own edification when we are talking about respect what are we talking about? Each person defines it differently, when my cousin was growing up in my uncle’s household respecting his father meant never questioning him and doing exactly as he said no matter what. As I was growing up respecting my father was something different, I was given the leeway to question my father’s decisions because he is human and doesn’t always have the right answer. In both households the father did not feel disrespected by his son because each had a different definition of what respect was.
How does one show respect for the military? And conversely how does one show respect for military personnel? These are two very different questions. One deals with the public’s ability to ask questions of its government and to criticize its policies if they are out of line, a task that every single American is charged with to ensure that the government behaves correctly. The second deals with individual service members, the AFchief’s and wdd101st’s that have served this county honorably and have sacrificed for it. At what point does criticism of the policy of the military become disrespectful of individual service members? Is the negative or censuring reaction of an individual service member to the criticism of the military organization as a whole justified?
How do the actions of individual service members that behave disrespectfully or dishonorably reflected on the military as a whole and the public perception of the military? A walk through downtown Southern Pines around 10 or 11 on a Saturday night will show some young military personnel and civilians behaving in a disrespectful manner sometimes.
These are the larger questions we should be grappling with if we are to have a discussion of respect.

Hats off to everyone in our armed forces , Thanks for everything you do keeping our country safe. Lets not forget those this Memorial Day that gave all protecting us .
skylinefirepest 11 months, 4 weeks ago
I'm going to hazard a guess that Reggie either has served sometime or is from a family with service members...why?? Because he knows too many of the jokes that we have told for years. Maybe he was in the Guard...you know, the "edge of town protectors", the "call me what you like, but call me at home" guys. Or maybe he was a leg or a stump jumper or one of the other types that was not quite smart enough to get in the Air Force!! Could even be that he is the kind that makes jokes on himself...he could have been a fellow "bus driver". JD on the other hand is beyond redemption...I'd suppose that when he sits down at a meal to say grace that he thanks the Maker for his never having served his country. He's just one of a multitude that appreciate their freedom and the bounty of this great country but never had to pay for it!! And then make comments about those that ARE paying for their freedom every day. And JD if you and the creamer are counting me as a mad person then don't...I simply pity your ignorance for not realizing what you have and not knowing that the lowest grunt in our Armed Forces is a better person than you are!! Sorry about that but you probably had your chance and decided that your safety was more important to the country than your service!!
JD 11 months, 4 weeks ago
You are definitely one of the mads skyline. You mock and cant take it so I pity you and really don't care what you think. Not everyone wants to be in the military, hence the volunteer army. Sorry I never wanted to fight in unwarranted wars or kill women and children. So be as sensitive as you want it doesn't bother me. There are other ways to serve than putting yourself in a ditch. If you don't realize that I can only blame your lack of critical thinking.
Actually, lack of critical thinking might be why you joined...
P.S. How American is it of Servicemen making condescending and bigoted remarks about the President in a theft article? Aren't you sworn to honor and respect the Commander and Chief or do you get to pick and choose who is American based on your bias?
AFCHIEF 11 months, 4 weeks ago

He is a typical arch liberal...plays lip service to the troops and then stabs them in the back. Matter of fact the man has never served his country in any capacity except as a "community organizer" and it's a crying shame to have such a dishonorable man as Commander in Chief. Oh, and I really do have some pity for you...I think it's a real shame when people don't realize what they have as a direct result from the efforts of others. You obviously don't appreciate what you have been "given" as a result of having been lucky enough to be born in the United States.
