Hundreds of original mini-masterpieces created by artists from all over North Carolina and beyond are currently on exhibit at the Arts Council of Moore County's most unique art event, "Art Anonymous."
The exhibit will be on display at Campbell House Galleries through June 29. The galleries are free and open to the public on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Inspired by a fundraising event from the Royal Academy of London, the idea for Art Anonymous is simple - artists donated original 2-D artwork with just two rules - the art must be the size of a 5-by-7-inch postcard, signed on the reverse, keeping the artists' identity anonymous.
Once a piece is sold at $50 each, the identity of the artist is revealed, and the purchaser may take their new masterpiece home.

Prior to the official public opening for this year's exhibit will be a special preview party on Thursday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines). The party is limited to 100 people, and costs $25 per person.
Admission includes the first chance to see and purchase the art of your choice at $50 each, fine wine and great food. To register, call the Arts Council at (910) 692-2787.
The exhibit will have its opening for the general public on Friday, June 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission for the Friday opening and to view the exhibit throughout the month is free and open to the public. Any artwork still on exhibit is for sale at $50 each.
For information, stop by the Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines), call (910) 692-2787 or visit the website www. MooreArt.org.
