On Thursday, April 19, members and guests of the Linden Garden Club of Pinewild embarked on their yearly bus trip.

This year's destination was Hillsborough, a town that has a history in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars.

After free time to explore the quaint town and unique shops, the members enjoyed lunch at the Saratoga Grill, then visited Ayr Mount, a federal-style plantation house built by William Kirkland in 1815 and part of the Classical American Homes Preservation Trust, for a guided tour.

On the drive home, a stop was made at Southern Seasons.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at the Pinewild Country Club. Master Gardener Dolores Muller will present "Successful Gardening in the Sandhills."
