Public Hearing on Proposed CVS Property Delayed

A public hearing to consider a conditional use permit for property near the intersection of U.S. 1 and U.S. 15-501 that is planned to be the site of the area's first CVS pharmacy has been delayed until June.

The delay resulted because the Aberdeen Planning Board has not made a recommendation to the Town Board. The planning board met earlier this week but delayed voting on the permit because it wanted more information from the applicant, Mosely Real Estate Advisors.

Tonight during its meeting the board opened the public hearing on the permit, and then voted unanimously to continue the item until the june 11 meeting.

Commissioner Robbie Farrell was absent from the meeting.

For more on the meeting, including the town's approval of a conditional rezoning that would allow a child care center on Parkway Drive, and the approval of the town's bicycle plan, please see Wednesday's print edition of The Pilot.

Do we really need another big chain drug store in this area? Especially THAT location?? Walgreens and Walmart are right down the street. I had heard rumors of a TRADER JOES? Anyone know if that's just too good to be true?
