Led by freshman Josh Martin and sophomore Josh Stockwell, the Pinecrest boys golf team won its sixth East Regional title in a row at River Ridge Golf Club in Clayton today.

Martin finished with a 3-under par 69 and Stockwell posted a 2-under 70. Other scores counting in the Patriot team total of 288 were a 74 by junior Zach Martin and a 75 by senior Alex Meade. The medalist was David Germann of Clayton with a 66.

Second place New Bern was eight strokes back at 296. Clayton was third with a score of 305 and also qualified for the NCHSAA 4-A state championships at Pinehurst No. 8 next Monday and Tuesday.
