Woman Charged in Theft of Traffic Circle Flowers

A Carthage woman has been charged with stealing recently planted flowers from around the Traffic Circle in Pinehurst.
Christy Dawn Pearson, 35, of Brinkley Road, was charged with larceny, resisting a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession.
The charges stem from an incident that happed just after 2:15 a.m. Thursday. Lt. Mike Wilson was on routine patrol when he spotted a vehicle parked in the median of U.S. 15-501 near the circle.
He pulled behind the car to investigate, and the driver drove off, eventually entering the Pinehurst Trace subdivision, turning around in a driveway and then attempting to exit, police said.
“She wouldn’t go when the light turned green,” Chief Earl Phipps said.
When officers approached the car they noticed “several plants stuffed inside the car,” Phipps said.
When they asked Pearson to get out of the car, officers saw more plants. When asked where they came from, Pearson said she took them from the Traffic Circle.
Officers seized 87 plants.
Pearson also had a machete in her car and was observed by officers trying to hide something while she was outside the vehicle, Phipps said. The officers discovered two bags of pills.

Sometimes the simplest of things can be turned into a over blown and life changing event,what pills she had has alot to do with how I would judge her,if they are prescriptions to her than that should have also been included in the story,if not then the description of those pills have an impact on the story,until that is brought to light I will not condemn her to severly,I have seen others for years grab a flower or two from that same location,wrong it may be but not to a degree that warrents a public lashing,a follow up on the drug situation would be more of a concern,but we all are different.

This is a dinky local newspaper comments section, you and many others on here are convinced that it is a "blog" designed for your brilliant rantings. You are the perfect example of "can dish it out but can't take it" Don't you usually come on here and brag about how you are a white supremacist? She thought of the flowers as trash, and just stopped to clean the traffic circle. She had no idea it would become so political. She's fortunate that her daughter wasn't with her, and was able to avoid the contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge.

Looks like some of Barney Fife's relatives are working for the law in Pinehurst. Stealing political signs, flowers........what's next an overloaded golf cart. Pinehurst is turning into Mayberry South......too bad there's not an Andy around to restore common sense and good judgement.

Hey clarabelle, I used to watch you on the "Howdy Doody" show. What ever happened to good shows like that? Well clara it's this way, if someone took flowers or anything else from my place I wouldn't like it. Nevertheless, if it was something like a bush or flowers I would say "God Bless them, they must have needed those flowers more than me." Maybe, they had no funds to spare and they needed them to put on their mother's grave, or to give to their girl friend.......I don't know it just seems like a harmless, victimless crime to me and I have bigger and better things to do. Godspeed.

Google "Howdy Doody" and you can find out all about Howdy Doody and the entire cast of this legendary children show produced at 30 Rock back in the day. BTW Clarabell was an adorable clown on the show whom never whispered a word until the last show................... GOOD BYE KIDS!!!!!
