EDS Auction

The annual Episcopal Day School auction will be held Saturday evening, March 31, at the prestigious Forest Creek Golf Club. Numerous silent and live auction items will be available, including trips to several beach homes and a mountain home, dinner for six at Ashten's, and the opportunity to play golf with PGA Tour winner Chris Perry.

The auction event features cuisine from around the world with beer and pairing wines. Baxter Clement and Cinny Beggs will be the masters of ceremony, and the Court Stewart Group will be playing jazz music.

Cocktail attire for the evening is required. Tickets are available by -calling the school at (910) 692-3492. Tickets at the door are $75.

Egg Hunts

Southern Pines Recreation and Parks Department will sponsor a flashlight egg hunt, plus a "Movie in the Pines" ("Hop") Friday, March 30, at Downtown Park.

The egg hunt is for ages 9 and up. Events begin at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, April 1, at Memorial Park, there will be an egg hunt and activities for kids ages 8 and under from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Flower Show

The N.C. State Florists Association and the Weymouth Center will host a flower show, "Alice in Wonderland," Friday, March 30, through Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Weymouth Center, 555 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines.

Tickets are available at Weymouth Center and Botanicals, 155 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines.

Flapjack Fundraiser

The annual Flapjack Fundraiser, for Communities in Schools of Moore County, will be held Saturday, March 31, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebee's, 1403 N. Sandhills Blvd., Aberdeen.

Car Show

Carthage United Methodist Church will host its fourth annual Classic Car and Truck Show on Saturday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Proceeds support the CUMC Food Pantry and Youth Ministries.

Sale Benefits Mission

Kidtastic Kidsignment is holding its spring/summer sale Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the National Guard Armory in Southern Pines.

From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Kidtastic will donate $1 to GodSent Angels Mission for every checkout.

GodSent Angels is a local mission run by Brenda Burt. She offers clothing, hot meals or just a helping hand to the needy and homeless families in the area. So come out and shop for deals on gently used maternity, infant, toddler, kids, 'tweens to teen clothing, shoes, toys, games, books, baby equipment and more.
