Gilbert Theater announces auditions for "Musical of Musicals, (The Musical!)"

In this satire of musical theater, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Stephen Sondheim. The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can't pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue?

Auditions are Monday, April 2, and Tuesday, April 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gilbert Theater, 116 Green St., Fayetteville.

Auditions begin at 7 p.m.

"You can bring a head shot if you have one available, but it isn't required," says a spokesman. "You should -prepare a solo from one of the following composers, including Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber or Kander and Ebb. Each of the five variations needs four singing actors, two females and two males. We will have a pianist available for you during auditions."

Performances are May 31 through June 17, Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.

For information, email the theater or contact Dr. Gail Morfesis at (910) 624-2651.
