Poetry Society Members Read at McIntyre's

Members of the North Carolina Poetry Society will read at McIntyre's Fine Books at Fearrington Village (halfway between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill on U.S. 15-501 South) at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25.

M. Scott Douglass was born in Pittsburgh. He spent 20 years as a dental technician before founding Main Street Rag Publishing Company, where he is now the publisher and managing editor.

Jodi Barnes' first chapbook, "Unsettled" (Main Street Rag Author's Choice Series), placed second in the Oscar Arnold Young contest for best 2010 N.C. book of poetry Her work is also published in Iodine Journal, three Main Street Rag anthologies, a Jacar Press anthology and Blue Collar Review (forthcoming).

Valerie Nieman is the author of a poetry collection, "Wake Wake Wake," as well as two earlier chapbooks. She is also a novelist, most recently of "Blood Clay," and short story writer whose work has been collected in "Fidelities." Her work has appeared in many journals, including New Letters, Poetry, North Carolina Literary Review and the Kenyon Review, and in several anthologies. She now teaches writing at North Carolina A&T.
