Preparations for the 2012 Red Springs Street Festival are under way.

Artists, community groups, craftspeople, food vendors and community organizations who wish to participate in the Red Springs Street Festival, Saturday, April 28, should contact Margie Labadie at (910) 734-3351 or email RedSpringsArtsCouncil@ gmail.com for an application or additional information.

This year's festival is scheduled for April 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a variety of musicians, dancers and street entertainers, including activities for both children and adults.

The event is held annually on East 3rd Avenue between Main and Cross streets in Red Springs to showcase arts, crafts and dance talent from Robeson County and the surrounding area.

Food vendors have the opportunity to do well - as the event draws thousands of people from outside Red Springs, as well as local citizens.

The Red Springs Street Festival is supported by a Grassroots Arts Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.
