Rather Buy Local

I read the article about the two former Pinehurst resort executives putting in a chain Dunkin’ Donut shop 150 yards from our local Granny’s shop. I think this is deplorable. Where is the “save the Mom and Pop” business sense here?
I don’t care about the different types of coffee. If I want a good, hot, tasty doughnut I’ll go to Granny’s. They have been a staple here for quite some time and have strived to keep a good clientele by serving a super product with friendly service.
I will continue to buy from my local stores rather than give my money away to I don’t know where.

I've been to Grannys, it's OK, but I'd take Dunkin Donuts all day over it.

Like I said the last time Granny's was mentioned...get there after ten in the morning and there's nothing left. I'll take Dunkin' any time...and as someone mentioned Dunkin is locally owned and will hire local people so where's the problem??

" If I want a good, hot, tasty doughnut I’ll go to Granny’s."
Unless it is after 10 am, then they are all sold out.
Unless it is Saturday afternoon or Sunday, then they are closed.

And how much of the money you pay for the Dunkin' Donut actually goes to some far away corporation in "I don't know where?" How much goes to the salary of the employees, all local residents, who will then spend that money in some other local store? How much goes to the owner of the building, who may be a local developer who will then spend the money in some other local project?
