How Habitat Helped

Sixteen or 17 years ago, when Habitat for Humanity was all volunteers with only one paid employee, my husband, Art, was the construction chair and I was chairperson for the Nurturing Committee.

The other day we met a woman with whom we had built a Habitat home for her family. She wanted to let us know that she and her husband had over the years adopted 12 children. She told us that if it hadn’t been for Habitat, she would never have been able to do this.

Isn’t that a wonderful story? It certainly made our day.
