The Aberdeen Lions Club will hold a health and safety fair along with its spring barbecue Thursday, March 15, at Aberdeen Lake.

The N.C. Lions Vision Van will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m., providing free vision screenings from local optometrists, including Dr. Scott Athans, of Doctors Vision Center, Dr. David Wells, of Eye Care Associates, and Dr. Keith Poindexter, of Family Eye Care of the Carolinas.

Other participants available with information include the Moore County Chapter of the Red Cross, Aberdeen Fire Department and Aberdeen Police Department. These organizations will be available from 1 to 3 p.m.

Barbecue and fried chicken plates catered by Jordan's will be served from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Plates also include coleslaw, baked beans, roll and iced tea. The cost is $7.

Business and individuals interested in obtaining plates can call in the orders to (910) 944-2329 or (910) 314-4096. Orders of 10 plates or more can be delivered if desired.

"We would love to see a huge turnout for the van and other organizations at the lake," says President Eric Braun.
