The Little Patriots youth football summer camp is still accepting registrations for the second week of sessions running Monday through Thursday.

The camp directed by Pinecrest head coach Chris Metzger with assistance from members of his staff and Patriot players is for kindergarten through rising eighth graders. The non-contact camp that is sponsored by the Sandhills Optimist Club will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.

The cost to attend is $100. No child will be excluded because of financial hardship.

According to Metzger, the mission of the camp is to provide each camper with 32 hours of the best football instruction possible. Campers will learn the basics of all positions and get instruction in several phases of the game, including: strength, speed, agility, special teams skill work, offensive and defensive drill work. All drills and sessions will be conducted in groups based on age.

Camp attire is shorts, T-shirts, athletic socks, cleats and running shoes. It is recommended that campers bring lunch and plenty of water each day.
