Students, tutors, parents and friends came together on Tuesday, May 22, to mark the end of another successful year of the CALL program.

CALL is an after-school tutoring program for Hispanic students and their moms.

Community Presbyterian Church of Pinehurst now marks its eighth year of conducting this educational program.

Students presented their tutors with sand pails filled with cards thanking them for their help and encouragement. The moms were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to improving their English language skills.

The highlight of the day was a dance recital by the CALL students, "Plie with Purpose." The students were each presented with a red rose for their performance.

Hannah and Sarah Webster and Jenna Woronoff were the volunteer high school students who served as their choreographers and were also acknowledged for their hard work all year.

"CALL owes much of its success to the dedication of its student and adult volunteers," says a spokesman.

Community Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Everette and Kelly roads in Pinehurst. More information may be obtained at www.communitypres.com or call Betty Pope, director of CALL, at (910) 295-6848.
