Colorado Shooting

The liberal media are getting as much political mileage as possible out of the recent shooting incident in Colorado.

The Democratic Party is blowing the "gun control" horn once again. The problem, they believe, is the general public's untrustworthiness with guns. Law-abiding citizens, to the contrary, need to be armed.

According our own state's statistics, one-fourth of the girls who attend a North Carolina university or college will be sexually assaulted before they graduate. A woman is raped in North Carolina every six minutes. There were 476 murders in 2010 in our state. Government cannot provide safety for 400 million people. The founders of our government knew that, and that is why we have a Second Amendment.

There is uneasiness fostered by a loss of confidence in government. Personal insecurity of what the future holds is rapidly bringing many to a breaking point. Crime is going to continue to escalate because of a sense of hopelessness, directly related to the ineptitude of a broken government.

While we focus upon the Colorado incident, corruption in our government continues to threaten our way of life many times over. We need to return the teaching of family values to the local community and get government out of education. Government schools have produced more than a generation of people ignorant concerning citizenship responsibilities and biblical values.

We need term limits to get rid of the self-serving mossback politicians that plague our Congress. We need checks and balances in government as originally designed. We need to see corrupt politicians pay the same price for crime that citizens do. We need citizens who are mad enough with what is going on to participate in the measures needed to restore what has been lost.

Vote 'em out.
