— The PSJ Hunter-Jumper Show — the second Sandhills Series competition — was held July 6-8 at the Pinehurst Harness Track.

Kathy Bennett and several other local riders brought home championships in their divisions. The next series show will be Aug. 31-Sept.2 at the Harness Track.

— Olympic equestrian sports will begin July 28 with eventing. At 1:45 p.m. EST, eventing dressage will be televised on NBC Sports.

— CORRECTION: In the July 8 article “Community Rallies Around Thoroughbred Mare” about Michele Lobsinger’s mare, Bonnie, veternarian Bri Gindlesperger was incorrectly identified.
