A retired U.S. Army medical officer will become chief operating officer for FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst in September.

Col. Brian T. Canfield comes to FirstHealth following his retirement this summer from the U.S. Army, where he had served as a Medical Service Corps officer since 1984.

Since July 2010, he has been CEO/commanding officer for Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg.
