Shame on Them

Good for you, Mitt Romney. Your appearance at the NAACP convention and straight-talk approach demonstrated it is your intent to be president of all the people.

Shame on you, national media, for only showing the “boos.” Why didn’t you show the applause for family values and jobs?

Shame on you, Barack Obama. Do you think that you don’t need to attend because members of NAACP are automatically in your corner, that black Americans are unable to reason what is best for them? Oh that’s right, you sent “Big Joe” Biden. I wonder if anyone will notice?

Shame on you, Rep. Cleveland. So you don’t think Romney should have come and given the speech: “He had no business there.” Sir, you are a race-baiting idiot who doesn’t want inclusion but exclusion from the American fabric. Fortunately your time passed and you are nothing more than “white noise” in the background.

Booyah Big Daddy!!! I think Romney speaking to the NAACP speaks volumes about the man.

Bravo, Bravissimo I'm guessing Rep. Cleveland wishes to keep alive the blatant Democrat lie that Conservatives don't care about the black community. One day the African American community will wake up to the fact that poverty especialy minority poverty is the fuel the democrat party runs on, they have zero motivation to change the status quo. 50 years of promising the world and delivering Bupkiss, the African American community is as bad or worse off economicly than ever befor and the real honest advances for Black Americans are due to programs and laws instigated by Republicans

Just could not refrain from chiming in,with the lack of comments being made on this article it is refreshing to see not many really care what the NAACP cares about,a courtesy showing by Mr. Romney should be recognized as the act of a courageous man,I wonder if Obama would do the same if invited by the Arien Brotherhood.

0

nothingspecial 10 months, 1 week ago

Also didn't show the standing ovation Mitt received and Rep Cleveland overlooked the fact that Mitt was INVITED to speak at the NAACP event.

Another example of our great professional media is the fact that they have been great about informing us that President Obama's favorite girl scout cookie is the thin mint but made hardly a mention of his action late last week that gutted the brave welfare reforms made by President Clinton, now allowing states to opt out of a key component of that reform:

http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/13/white-house-approved-reversal-of-welfare-reform/

Also heard little from the media about findings that most illegal immigrants collect welfare:

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2011/04/most-illegal-immigrant-families-collect-welfare/

Can someone explain to me again, what possible coherent reason I might give to vote for the President to have a second term?

Check out this guy comparing the NAACP to the Aryan Brotherhood.

I thought the glorified Facebook status update, published as a Letter to the Editor, was silly. But comparing the NAACP to the Aryan Brotherhood is profoundly ignorant.

0

@WFB, Never said I compared one or the other, nor do I recognize either one for anymore than they both are, racist organizations that have done nothing to bring this country together, both are outdated and ineffective,I do take offense to the rubuttles being made whenever a caucasian responds to any matters that pertain to the NAACP,one should not forget we too have pride in our own race.As for your putting a spin on my comment that reflects your deep rooted loyalty to your beliefs you should not discard others as ignorant.

That being said, the comment above makes no sense and is not helpful to the conservative cause.

What do you expect from Obama who never had a REAL job in his life. Unless you count smoking dope and doing drugs a job

0

Obama's tripe that individuals are not responsible for their success is one of the major themes in Ayn Rand's, Atlas Shrugged. It is the credo of the looters, the takers. The bloodsuckers that will, if they have their way, bring this nation to a broken, broke standstill. If you haven't read the book, it reads like today's headlines.

Seriously, more and more you see a hatred displayed for the establishment by these old hippies and others who seem to reject the accomplishments by America's founders, etc.

Attended a conference in Durham this past winter that I was interested in because of its misleading title which was "A call to men: Taking an active role in ending violence against women". Turned out to be a community organizing effort celebrating the oppression of African American men over the past 200 years. Especially revolting during the training was a timeline an angry woman taught that described how anglo white males had systematically oppressed and controlled minorities, including women during the entire history of our country - they included the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights. My limited experience with a community organizing agency...

The reason your great grand pappy and his great grand pappy were able to climb the social ladder in the US of A is because they weren't bought and sold like livestock for hundreds of years.

0

cantstandya 10 months, 1 week ago

The reason they were brought here like livestock is they were sold by their own kind to slave traders, but all of that aside since it has been used as an excuse for hundred of years,I think the other reason is that many found it was just easier to let their masters keep feeding them, proving they just could not make it on their own,or were afraid to try whichever, you just keep putting that foot in your mouth and you will catch athletes lips,or foot in mouth disease, whichever comes first but as for you,I'm finished trying to make any sense out of any of your comments so lets just let it go,we're mules in seperate tracks pulling in opposite directions,if we meet again it will not be on this subject.

0

dw22805 10 months, 1 week ago

I agree with you cantstandya. WFB probably don't know the first slave was owned by a Anthony Johnson who was a BLACK MAN! And is the reason all the of the africans became slaves. Before that they were indentured servants and after their debt was payed (usually 7 years) they were not only freed but given 50 acres of land! So yes using the 200 year we were slaves crap as a crutch is a little played out sense it was their own fault to begin with! Poor people have poor ways.

0

Thatcher 10 months, 1 week ago

Amazing that WFB and dw22805 have the identical writing style. Other than your intentional misuse of "don't," you thereafter only misspelled a few things on purpose. "Poor people have poor ways." Really? Poor people have far more class than folks who fake posts here pretending to be a poor person. Nice try.

0

Thatcher 10 months, 1 week ago

Oh, and WFB, you also misspelled "sense," but you already knew that.

0

Thatcher 10 months, 1 week ago

And Mr. Buckley, if you want to pretend to speak like poor folk from the South, at least learn how to do it well, like other Democrats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaDQ1v.... Study this, and get back to us. Thanks.

0

Thatcher 10 months, 1 week ago

Folks, this is really simple: liberal posters here who have been banned often return under different names. Sadly, these folks care nothing about disparaging the very people they claim to champion, by pretending to be someone and something that they are not. Ask yourself: why do they feel the need to do this? Then reread their fake posts, and ask the question again. No intellectual honesty, and everything is a game. Sad.

0

dw22805 10 months, 1 week ago

I am not WFB I don't even know who that is. First of all why would I get on a different account to bash myself? Secondly your whole argument of why I must be WFB is based on my misuse of the word "don't"? Are you listening to yourself? In regards to my comment " poor people have poor ways" means exactly what cantstandya was saying. Poor people in this case meaning the majority of African Americans have been doing the same thing for 200 years. Using slavery as a crutch get a free handout while everyone working pays their bills. I myself am in what is considered in America to be the poor class. Im not in it because I don't try I am due to family medical bills that I pay and kids that I raise because they are my kids and my responsibility. I don't ask for a government handout. Im not asking for a pat on the back or praise it just makes me mad that instead of getting a job and trying the majority would rather watch T.V. and wonder why they don't have anything. That's what I meant by saying poor people have poor ways. Lastly unless your a English teacher why are you so concerned about my misuse of don't and misspelling of sense? You understood what I meant . I think in trying to prove me to be someone else you lost track of your argumentative goal.

0

dw22805 10 months, 1 week ago

The YouTube link you posted is a video Showing how Hilary Clinton developed a southern draw during a speech she gave at what appeared to be a African American church. That's hardly what I would call learning to speak like other poor folks. By saying that Hilary Clintons fake southern draw was a good representation of how poor people talk you just put us all down. Thanks. In case you haven't noticed it yet Thatcher we are on the same side. You just misinterpreted what I was saying. I didn't mean to offend you or anybody else just stating the facts.

0

Thatcher 10 months, 1 week ago

We all understood what you meant. And that was a pathetic attempt to pretend to be someone else. Study your sentence structure. Like a giant neon sign, you get some sentences right, then intentionally demolish others. And you do this on purpose. You, sir, should be ashamed of yourselves (had to add that fake thing at the end to make you feel comfortable). Nice try.

Please don’t blame the problems of the Black community on anyone other than Black people. Every single problem can be laid at the feet of two groups. Those groups are the civil rights industry and Liberal Adults Blacks who I refer to as LAB people, the White Liberal experiment people. Unfortunately for all of us, they make up the majority of the population. If anyone makes a plea to the president on behalf of the Black people or even criticize his policy, these people will try to wreck your career or business. How can a community grow and flower. As for the NAACP, they and the rest have made civil rights the biggest hoax in America.

0

Ok you got me. Man I can't fool you. Your a regular scooby doo! I guess my next comment should be " and I would have gotten away from it too if it wasn't for that meddling Thatcher!"

In case your wondering that was sarcasm Thatcher. I don't want you to actually think you are scooby doo. Seams you have a problem with mismatching identities. Its a shame I can't even post a comment without being harassed by someone about being someone im not even tho I disagreed with the person im accused of being and agreed with my accuser. And what reason am I being accused of being someone im not? Because of my misuse of the word don't and misspelling on the word sense. Oh and my sentence structure. Even tho what's actually written in the sentence is disagreeing with who im accused of being. Thatcher to be so Smart with grammar you are dumb when it comes to reading which is why things are written to begin with. Trying to make me out to be a person im not has made you look a lot dumber than it has me.

I'm done arguing with you. P.s. The story about me being poor is true. Sometimes being poor is not by Choice but in your case I think it is due to an abundance of ignorance

0

dw22805 10 months, 1 week ago

I watched 10 minutes of MSNBC last night and almost puked. It is the obama campaign network. That is an insult to the people who want to vote for obama on his merits as they may think he is a better choice based on truths, and not garbage. that would be fine...we could disagree. "Thatcher is very paranoid." Gosh, I thought you said I was angry. And for what it's worth, I don't believe that DR posts here under other assumed names. He doesn't have to. My comments refer to "DR Wannabes," who, despite their best efforts, lack DR's intelligence, wit, and humor...and thus are left only with the weak talent of calling others names. justiceforall and williamfbuckley come to mind. When confronted about their "knowledge," they either quit or are removed...usually with a stream of vile language marking their exit. Within a few days, a brand new poster appears spouting the same nonsense in the same way. They, too, are soon removed. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. And in fairness to DR and certain conservative posters here, there appears to be (at least to me) bad blood between them which goes back a very long time. DR posts a funny column, or posts a comment on these threads, and personal attacks ensue, with DR returning fire. The vicious cycle thing. It happened again with his last column when someone here posted a slam against DR which I felt was over the top and uncalled for. I called that conservative on it, and defended DR. Then all h..l broke loose between them, with the Pilot removing all of our posts. It really does not have to be that way. State your opinion, and back it up with links or logic. Simple. Cheers!

Diane- Both are true. Yes, I am voting for Obama and against the Republican option. The R's put up horrible options and Romney was the best of the bunch and he is an awful choice. Most Americans agree or with these unemployment numbers it would be a Romney landslide which it will not be. If he wins it could be another Electoral College victory and not by popular vote. Regardless of the nonsense repeated by the lemmings (He's a Socialist. He's only a Community Organizer. He's a Muslim. He hates America. He can only speak with a teleprompter.), the President has shown himself to be a wise leader in terms of foreign affairs and a reasonable and thoughtful leader. Domestically, he has been dealt a terrible hand with the residual household debt from the housing bubble/financial crisis, and an obstinate Congress focused on replacing him with a Republican instead of exerting energy on helping America. The idea that the ultra rich have manipulated the right leaning lower income folks to fight the battle for them and to propagate the misinformation regarding taxes, the cause of the debt, and the evils of Big Government, well that is just terribly sad. Americans have lost their way. If we are rich, we think it is because we are better than everyone else and deserve it. (And we have convinced a lot of stupid people that the poor are lazy and deserve their lot!) We think we should pay little taxes and that us getting richer is all that matters, regardless of our methods. We don't care if we make money hurting America. We pay the lowest tax rates in 80 years and we fund the Tea Party to fight on our behalf to pay less. I use to Vote Republican before I realized that while the R's talk small government and fiscal responsibility their phony cardboard heroes, like Reagan, increased the size of government and the debt too. And don't get me started on the bible thumping wing and the intrusive social policies of the right. Yes, I am more anti-Republican than pro-Obama, but Obama has shown intelligence and class and I am proud that he is my president.

AFCHIEF- If we are going to have an honest dialogue, why don't you source that quote. You cannot attribute it to Obama because he never said that or implied it. Obviously, you missed the bigger point which clearly (to intelligent folks) was not as you quoted. Again, not the point, but are you saying rich people never ask for government assistance? Not George Steinbrenner, or Curt Schilling, or the owner of the Minnesota Vikings who just got $500MM of public funds. We can skip past sports and find lots of examples of entrepreneurs and successful business folks with their hands out if you would like to continue down that path. Do you know what tariffs are and who lobbies for them? And yes, LOL, the whole Syria conflict is completely Obama's fault.
