Members of the Aberdeen High School graduating class of 1946 celebrated a 66th anniversary reunion on May 15.
Nine of the 12 living graduates, plus one teacher (Marie Kennedy Robins), met at the home of class president Frank McNeill and his wife, Ann. Also present were some family members and friends of the graduates. Three classmate were unable to attend. Others came from as far as Texas, South Carolina, Virginia and the N.C. coast.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the group visited the Aberdeen High School Museum, then went back to the McNeill home for dessert and more conversation. Of the 22 who graduated in 1946, 11 started together in first grade and shared all 12 years of school.
The 10 deceased classmates were honored and remembered by name.
