Pinehurst Resort will host the "Work Where America Comes To Play" career expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Cardinal Ballroom at the Carolina Hotel.

The career expo will provide an opportunity for potential job applicants to learn more about Pinehurst and speak with department representatives to preview available jobs and job-related benefits for the upcoming busy season.

"In light of the current economic climate and unemployment in the country, we're excited to be able to provide jobs to our community and anticipate the career expo will be of great interest to residents of Moore County, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and surrounding towns," said Carla Williams, executive vice president of human resources for Pinehurst Resort.

Pinehurst has 1,200 employees, and its hotel operations include the Carolina Hotel, Holly Inn, Manor Inn and the villas and condos. Hotel positions include bell staff, front desk and resort services, housekeeping, transportation, security and facilities maintenance.

The grounds and golf course maintenance team is responsible for the appearance of the resort and club grounds and the maintenance of eight golf courses, including the famed Pinehurst No. 2 - site of the 1999 and 2005 U.S. Open and the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open in consecutive weeks.

The service center also maintains the resort vehicles and equipment.

Pinehurst golf professionals provide individual and class instruction, and the Pinehurst Golf Academy conducts golf schools and participates in various golf research programs.

In addition, the tournament office manages numerous tournaments and championship events each year.

The tee time office handles reservations on all golf courses year-round, cart attendants keep the golf carts ready for golfers, and starter rangers help manage timely play on all the courses.

The culinary team and food and beverage staff provide the food and service for the Member's Club, banquet events, room service, coffee shop, poolside service, halfway houses, beverage carts and restaurants such as the four-diamond 1895 Grille at the Holly Inn, the Carolina Dining Room, The Tavern, Ryder Cup Lounge, No. 7, No. 8 and the Donald Ross Grill.

Massage therapists, cosmetologists, estheticians, hair stylists, nail technicians and others staff the Forbes four-star Spa at Pinehurst.

Pinehurst employee partners also work in the areas of recreation, the kids' club, tennis, croquet, lawn bowling and the beach club and marina.
