The O’Neal boys picked up their first league win of the season Tuesday with a 54-52 victory over Harrells Christian.

After leading by as many as 17 points, the Falcons held off a late rally by the visitors, with Ryan Williams hitting clutch free throws to seal the Cape Fear Independent Conference win.

O’Neal (7-9 overall, 1-2 conference) was led by Jack Johnston, who scored 19 points before fouling out early in the fourth quarter. Jacob Talbert, who provided several assists, and Williams finished with seven points each for the Falcons.

The Falcons are scheduled to play at Village Christian on Friday.
