NM Boys Notch Breakout Win Over Bulls

The Mustangs jumped out to a 14-2 lead through the first quarter, Monday against South Stanly, and never looked back on their way to a collecting a 63-48 conference hoops win in Robbins.
The victory was the second on the season for the North Moore varsity boys' basketball team as it improved to 2-11 overall and 2-6 in 1-A Yadkin Valley Conference competition.
Junior forward Landon Auman scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs in scoring, with 15 coming in the second half. He also had 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in the game.
Meanwhile Mustang swing man Justin Marley had his outside stroke sizzling, as he went 5-for-7 from the field -- all on jump shots from distance -- including three treys. The senior finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
North Moore led 29-11 at the half, and carried a 46-28 edge into the final quarter.
The Mustangs are back in action today, as they travel to Spencer for a YVC clash against the defending 1-A state champion North Rowan Cavaliers (9-2, 7-0). The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m.
