Richard and Janis Brehm, of Pinehurst, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Alyce Brehm, of New York, to Madison Loy Byrd, also of New York.

The groom-elect is the son of Mitchell and Sharon Byrd, of Greenville, S.C., and the grandson of R. Cooper and June White, also of Greenville, S.C.

A July 2012 wedding is planned in Kiawah, S.C.
