The inadvertant dropping of a word in the editing process changed the apparent meaning of Wes May’s Dec. 28 letter, headlined “‘Obamanomics’ Rises Up Again.”
The paragraph in question, quoting economist Thomas J. Sargent, should have read as follows: “In 2009, he said the rationale for Obama’s stimulus package ‘ignores what we have learned in the past 60 years of macroeconomic research.’”
The published version omitted the word “ignores.” The Pilot regrets the error.
