On Friday, Dec. 9, 82 members of the Linden Garden Club of Pinewild gathered at the Pinehurst Member's Club for a festive holiday luncheon.

Entertainment was provided by The Four Corders, a quartet who are members of the Sweet Adelines Carolina Harmony Chorus. Holiday songs were performed in sweet harmony by the quartet. The group includes Kay Cormier, of Pinewild, Sue Sikes, of Seven Lakes, Annette Jasper, of Raleigh, and Vicki Martin, of Wake Forest.

The monthly business meeting was dispensed with and a raffle of 26 holiday baskets was held, with the proceeds gifting the club's annual scholarship to a horticultural or landscape student at Sandhills Community College. All items in the raffle were donated by the club members.

The January meeting will be held on Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Pinewild clubhouse. Master Gardeners Barbara and Larry Cohen will present "Propagation and Care of Houseplants."

Any member who wishes to attend the January meeting, with or without lunch, should make a reservation by email or phone to Janet Farrell, social chairperson, no later than Friday, Jan. 13. Lunch cancellations must be received no later than Sunday, Jan. 15.
