Birdies and Bogeys

Birdie: By Dr. John Dempsey, president of Sandhills Community College, for being the 77th recipient of the Kiwanis Builder’s Cup award. Congrats, John, for this well-deserved honor. It is hard to imagine anyone who could be more fittingly described as having “outstandingly contributed to the upbuilding of the Sandhills.”

Bogey: By N.C. House Speaker Thom Tillis, for ham-handedly ordering police to evict 50 people peacefully gathered outside his office on Thursday to protest last month’s shameful wee-hours vote on controversial legislation that might not have withstood the light of day. This is open government?

Would this be the same Dempsey who: 1) argued against the Humaine Society building next to the Moore County Airport but; 2) argued for a building 232 apartments under the airport traffic pattern, which development was "justified" by fictitious single family homes and a commercial area, neither of which will ever be built? More like a double bogey. The man should be as ashamed of himself as we find his behavior disgusting.

Triple Bogey to the Pilot liberals that never have anything but praise for other liberals that are ham-handely destroying our country. They failed to talk about the midnight meetings of democrats behind closed doors to ram through legislation that the majority of Americans opposed.
