Pinecrest senior Kurt Wohlrab claimed state championships in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke Saturday at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.

The perfromance earned Wohlrab MVP honors at the 4-A NCHSAA state championship swim meet, as well as automatic All-American honors.

His time of 00:55.63 in the 100 breaststroke set a new state record for the event.
