The North Moore girls basketball team lost a tough 73-71 conference matchup at West Montgomery Tuesday in overtime.

The two teams were battling for the third seed in the upcoming Yadkin Valley Conference tournament that starts Monday.

The Mustangs had three free throws with no time left on the clock in regulation, but missed all three shots to send the game into overtime with the score knotted at 60-all.

In the overtime, the homestanding Warriors outscored the Mustangs 13-11.

The Mustangs go into their regular season final Friday, hosting North Rowan, with a 9-6 league record and 12-10 overall. North Moore has clinched fourth place for the tournament. Meanwhile the Warriors wrapped their regular season with a 12-4 conference mark and 12-6 overall.
