"Traveling Light" is a new play by Nicholas Wright, directed by Nicholas Hytner.
The play takes a look at the turn of the 20th century when a young man named Motl Mendl is captivated by the moving images on his father's cinematograph.
Forty years later, he has become an acclaimed film director with a successful life in America. But as he looks back on his early life, he must confront the cost of fulfilling his dream, both to himself and those he left behind.
"Traveling Light" is a funny and fascinating play from the writer of "His Dark Materials" and "Vincent in Brixton."
The Sunrise Theater is a historic nonprofit with 361 seats and beautiful acoustics.
Wine, beer and movie concessions are available at reasonable prices.
