Southern Pines police say they are investigating an armed robbery that happened today at the BB&T bank, located at 200 SW Broad Street.

The incident, according to police, happened at 11:40 a.m. at the bank's night deposit box.

A K9 track was conducted with negative results. Suspect description: black male, light skin, 5’6”- 5’8”, 250+ lbs., early to mid-twenties, dark colored hooded jacket, dark colored bandana covering his face, silver colored semi-automatic handgun.
