West Montgomery Sweeps Mustangs

The North Moore boys' and girls' basketball teams were swept by West Montgomery Tuesday in Robbins.

The Lady Warriors went on a 9-0 run late in the third and early in the fourth quarters, breaking open a tight game, on the way to winning 60-39.

Jalisa Davis paced the Lady Mustangs with 14 points while Tiosha McCaskill chipped in with 12 points.

The Mustangs fall to 2-3 in Yadkin Valley Conference play and 4-6 overall while the Warriors improve to 4-1 in conference play and 4-3 overall

In the boys' matchup, the Warriors built a 13-point lead with 5:13 left in the game. The Mustangs rallied to within five points with 1:20 left in the game, but could not get any closer, losing 64-58.

Quashan Davis had a season-high 22 points, including five three-pointers, for the Mustangs while Landon Auman added 16 points.

The Mustangs dip to 2-3 in league action and 4-6 overall while West goes to 4-1 in conference play and 4-4 overall.

The Mustang boys get back into action Jan. 3 in a junior varsity/varsity doubleheader, hosting Faith Christian.
