The North Moore boys' and girls' basketball teams both earned wins against O'Neal Thursday at the Hannah Center on the O'Neal campus.
The Lady Mustangs toppled the home team 65-13 with sophomore Andrea Brower leading North Moore's balanced scoring attack with 12 points. The Lady Falcons were paced by Maggie Jackson with four points. The Mustangs break a two-game losing streak and improve their record to 5-3 overall while the Falcons fall to 0-9.
In the boys' contest, the visiting Mustangs went on a 16-5 run in the second half of the second quarter and then held off a fourth-quarter Falcon rally, hitting on 13 of 20 foul shots for a 63-50 victory.
Junior Quashan Davis led the Mustangs with 17 points, including three treys while O'Neal's Jacob Talbert was the game's high scorer with 25 points. North Moore evens its record at 4-4 while the Falcons fall to 3-6.
North Moore hosts Albemarle tonight in an important Yadkin Valley Conference contest. The girls' game is schedule is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. followed by the boys' game.
