Who's to Blame?

I see that many members of the Republican Party blamed Hurricane Sandy for Mr. Romney’s loss.
I note that many of these same people believe that a hurricane is “an act of God.”
Does this mean that God moved in a mysterious way to support President Obama?
I also note he ignored Billy Graham’s full-page ads in national and local papers.

How stupid can can a left wing idiot get? Well, here we have it.
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
No, I think they are on to something. God wanted the islamic guy over the mormon.
OldPilot 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Cooldaddy and Yukonjohn: are you intellectually opposed to rational thought and all manifestations of common sense or is it just genetic? Fact 1:Obama won, Romney lost. Fact 2: the GOP has blamed Fact 1 on everything under the sun including but not limited to Sandy. Fact 3: Obama is neither a Muslim nor an adherent to any Islamic faith. Comments like yours deserve a high five, in the face, with a chair! Seriously!

"Fact 3: Obama is neither a Muslim nor an adherent to any Islamic faith."
I have spent almost no time considering whether Obama is or is not a muslim. However, how do you know that what you state above is "a fact"?
fugitiveguy 5 months, 2 weeks ago
More importantly OP, how do you square your allegience to Obama considering the "fact" that the debt went from 10.6T to 16T in only 4 years and is projected to be 20T by the end of his second term. How do you see that "fact" impacting your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on? Considering the real dillemas we face it hardly seems worth getting upset over someone calling the president a muslim.
skylinefirepest 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Hey OP, with just a little time on the net you can find several videos of obumma and his wife both referring to "his Muslim roots" so take it for what you will. I've seen video of obumma saying he was a Muslin and I've seen him saying he was a Christian...problem is that he's a confirmed liar so I don't really know what he is!!

SP-I think the word is "losers" not "loosers". Looser would be appropriate if we were talking about screws, as in "I think SP's screws are looser" Please reassure us that you do not make your living as a public school teacher.
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
LMAO, Thatcher, how are ya Buddy? I didn't think anyone would take me "half serious" but l guess they did. Skylinefirepest, I have heard him say that he was both Christian and Moslem, so as you said, "Who knows". I do know he is not a very good President, and we are headed for some bad times in the near future. Hey Thatcher, our temp has come up 5 degrees in the last 2 hours!! YIPEE!! We are supposed to be up to 5 below by tomorrow, it will seem just like summer!!

Hey yukon, I stumbled across some interesting information about a week ago dealing with solar cells, since then I have created a 190 Watt solar panel for less then 80 dollars. I will be completely off the grid for less the 600 bucks.
Go American ingenuity.
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Wow, TAP, fantastic!! We have horrible electric bills, but the only thing that l think would help would be like a solar panel, that trapped cold and turned it into energy!! In the summer would could use it perfectly, but we don't need alot of power in the summer. (no air conditioning up here) That is great that you did that though, best of luck with it and getting off the grid, it might come in handy for you and yours.
The_AnonymusProfit 5 months, 2 weeks ago
what is the wind like up there? I am looking at wind turbines as well, they might be a bit more then solar but I no yall have some pretty kicking turbulence that way.

Well, well, well, another one about why. Why did Obama win and why did Romney lose. To me this is a bait question , being brought up at this late date. Is Obama a Muslim? YES. he was brought up a muslim during his asian sojourn as a child. According to Islam, once a Muslim always a Muslim no matter what anybody says. Obama has referred to HIS Muslim Faith on numerous occasions. That being said, Obama thinks he will be all things to all people . Mighty big load. Now as to how he won. When the entitlement crowd is as big as Obama has built it to be, and trust me, those entitlement folks are not going to give that up, placed opposite a moderate with little fire, [ much like McCain a few years ago] Obama wins. The Republican party is split along several lines from conservative, Tea Party, Libertarian, moderate, to liberal, and no concensus of opinion. I didn't like it but that is the shape of things. This is the topic so that is as far as we need go. We can complain about Obama and the tax and spend crowd but that should be for another topic.
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
TAP, here outside of Fairbanks, the wind rarely blows to any consequence. 100 miles away in Delta or Healy, down by the Alaska Range, it blows like crazy. They say that Delta averages one day a month in every month that the wind blows at least 60 miles per hour!! It is blowing 50 down there tonight. Here we have almost none, but just a breath of air movement will jump the temp up, and combined with clouds, it can warm up in a hurry. So far, we have gone up 9 degrees in 3 hours and still climbing.
Sorry to all the other posters about being "off topic". I wish that the Pilot would have a chat room where we could hold regular conversations.

YJ; I'm an old stickler, I suppose. I look for a decent forum to vent. As for SPUWS , good grief son, is it that you are really trying to convince yourself that you have relevancy? Name one republican that really blames "Sandi" ? how dumb. The hot air from Washington does far worse damage that a hurricane named Sandi. Just remember Obama got a smaller percentage of the vote that the republicans got in the house, sooooo no mandate there. It's the entitlement crowd, you folks who want the free stuff. the grasshoppers of the country.

The issue with elections in this country is almost half of its eligible voting public doesn’t even bother to vote. Pathetic. The Center for the Study of the American Electorate, put 2012 voter turnout at 57.5% of all eligible voters. The group estimated 126 million people voted in the election. That means 93 million eligible citizens did not cast ballots. So next time you begin a political discussion with someone, table the “who did you vote for” conversation until you find out if the person even cares.

Old pilot specifically,, and Gerriatric the pathetic writer, you are as wrong and stupid as the prolific blogger toad is. I never said anything about his relegion, or lack thereof. I will put my education above yours on a blind bet anytime. Having read your posts, I see no evidence of a person who can make a statement like you made old p. Therefore i leave you in ithe dust with the likes of toad. Now, my issue was, and is, the extreme left and right. You both are idiotic and produce vile like this gerrie rigged editorial. Unfortunatly, blogs tend to gather the bottom feeders. The bulk of our Country is disgusted with both loud mouth ends of our political system.

Spuws, you do understand obamas not Jesus, right? And did you also miss the memo that he is just as White as he is Black. I also can't believe you once stated your situation was similar to the plight of the Jewish people. Hilarious! Perhaps your psychiatrist can help you with that.
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
mymindwanders, no, he/she does not understand that the President is not Jesus. This is something that is going to haunt them really soon. When the President cannot feed the masses with a couple of fish and a couple of loaves of bread, they are going to freak. This path is unsustainable. It is easy for me to see, and God help me, I hope l am wrong. When the masses see that govt. cannot "give" them stuff anymore, they are going to go and take stuff. That is when the problems are really going to start. People are going to die in mass. People that "have" are not going to idly stand by and let those that do not "have" take what they have worked for. I think the Civil War will look like a walk in the park to what we might have coming. Get ready folks, it is going to get rocky.

I cannot understand why so many Americans show disrespect for each other. One side is as bad as the other. Insults will not heal the divisions.
Who is to blame? How about start looking at the news you read and watch. FOX is dreadful. Here we call in FAUX (false) - anything Rupert Murdoch has a hand in needs to be discounted. He preaches his own agenda.
The big problems in your country stem from companies sending YOUR jobs overseas. When I was in USA recently I could find very little in places like WALMART that wasn't made in CHINA! A country the size of USA should be making their own goods. Employing American citizens.
I love your country. Many of our countrymen made wonderful lives for themselves and their families. when they emigrated to your country. We Scots are very self reliant and can hold our own, we also care for those who cannot provide or care for themselves. Seems to me we belittle ourselves when we do not look after the sick and needly.
fugitiveguy 5 months, 2 weeks ago
"faux" news, how clever, I hadn't heard that one. Anyone who comes on here citing Fox News as a root cause for this nations woes is not to be taken seriously. I suppose we would all be better off if no one ever challenged our emporer at all which would be the case if it weren't for Fox News. BHO himself should be assigned a singificant share of the blame for the divisiveness that has overtaken this country.
scottish 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Not the root cause of your country's woes. However it is not a serious news station. I think your public service news programmes are much more trustworthy.
I have travelled extensively all over USA over the last 50 years. Your troubles started many years ago. As have ours. The electorate neither wishes nor is interested in political solutions. Exactly the same in UK. If anything our electorate is less interested. We only have ourselves to blame if we get the leaders we deserve. How do we fix it? I have no idea. In my youth (I am now over 70) we were much more engaged and interested in government and policies.
Those of my family who have settled in USA have all "done well". They have worked, paid their taxes and prospered. They do vote democratic. However they are not liberals. They are libertarians, who are left leaning!
Yukonjohn 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Scottish, There are, and IMHO, will be more and more libertarians in our country. Neither party is good for our country, they are all bought and paid for by big pharma/media/business leaders. They care nothing for the common man/woman. It is rapidly coming to a head, maybe the fiscal cliff will do it, and then we can pick up the pieces that are left, if there are any.
scottish 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Yukonjohn. It always strikes me that there are so few Independent candidates in your elections. It can only be because it takes a RICH man to stand for election. A very great cause for concern. I saw many people argue that Romney was fit to govern because he was a business man. I am a businesswoman and frankly I trust very few business men or women!
fugitiveguy 5 months, 2 weeks ago
"I think your public service news programmes are much more trustworthy."
Fox news didn't edit audio tape to paint someone a racist (NBC did). Fox News didn't falsify documents to to besmirtch the record of a president (CBS/Dan Rather did). The left doesn't have a "Fox News" therefore they have to pull out all the stops to discredit it.Yet more people watch Fox than any of the other networks which is really what gets the lefts goat.

Will you all stand back and take a look at yourselves? This is not how to discuss anything. You need to find a consensus. Put aside your misconceptions of others. Walk in their shoes for an hour and you might see a very different view of the same problem. Truth has many angles and faces. If I am fairly well off - yes I am - my view of the world will be much better than someone who is poor and down on their uppers. Am I lucky? Some would say yes. However I know I work hard - so luck has nothing to do with it except that I was lucky I was made able and fit to work hard. I am an atheist so have no belief in any god - god had no hand as far as I am concerned in the result of your election. Romney did not come across well. Obama got out his vote.
teufelhunden 5 months, 2 weeks ago
I agree that I too do not need to apologize for what I have because I've worked hard for it.
njc17 5 months, 2 weeks ago
If one were to follow the discussion path on this thread, with a dotted line, it would look as if a drunken sailor passed this way, So lets look at the initial topic header, "Who's to blame"? We live in a time where entitlements have become a carreer choice. Many people in this day in age are comfortable with federal and state largess, to the point where they base they time and talents in pursuit of a greater portion of the largess pie. Both republican and democrat leadership has done little to curtail this growing issue, in fact, both actually foster it, democrat making it a plank. This is one reason. Second is the media which being under the Soros influence has become the mouthpiece of the social experiment agenda. No matter who is put up and how cohesive the republivan party becomes, this will be a difficult dup to overcome. When few newspapers and only FOX news bring the conservative voice to the public, real information is muted. Third, is the fractiousness of the Conservative voice as well as within the republican party. The Republican party HAS to get a consensus of message and the voice to deliver it. Who's to blame? Americans who let all this happen throughout the last 6 decades.
