What a treat to have the students from Union Pines High School join the Carolina Philharmonic chorus as we sang, flash mob style, the Hallelujah Chorus at the Pinehurst Christmas tree lighting Friday night.

The enthusiasm and voices of these kids definitely brought our voices up a notch, and their smiles were infectious throughout the crowd. Young violinists from the Conservatory provided our own special orchestra. It was a truly a joyous way to start the Christmas season.

Thanks to the students — and to David Michael Wolff, who somehow always manages to make us sound better.
