The Pinehurst Police Department provided the following information.

Reports

Aug. 20: Female, 82, reported someone threw a homemade smoke bomb near a home in the 100 block of Salem Drive.

Aug. 21: Female, 46, reported someone removed assorted jewelry from a purse at a home in the 200 block of Sandhill Circle.

Aug. 22: Female, 34, of the 100 block of Racquet Lane, reported receiving a check for payment that was fraudulent.

Aug. 23: Female, 62, reported someone broke a mailbox off a post in the 700 block of St. Andrews Drive.

Aug. 24: A village employee reported damage to the landscaping in the area of Midland Road West and Kelly Road caused by a vehicle driving over the median; Female, 60, reported the theft of assorted jewelry from a home on Fields Road.

Aug. 25: Male, 40, reported someone provoked a verbal argument with him at Cannon Park.

Aug. 27: An employee of Mid-South Food Service, 203 W. South St., Aberdeen, reported the theft of a bag containing coins from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
