The idea of giving circles was a big hit among residents and non-profit organizations Tuesday afternoon.
Residents gathered information on more than 25 non-profit organizations this afternoon during an ice cream social at St. Joseph of the Pines.
Organizers were pleased with a “great turnout” and several attendees said the event was “interesting,” even “inspiring.”
“It was fantastic,” said Alice Wilson. “It was a real eye-opener how many wonderful organizations we have in Moore County.”
Representatives of the non-profits said they were glad to provide information about their organizations and even network with other non-profits.
The event also introduced the concept of giving circles, in which social groups are encouraged to pool money to make a larger, more impactful donation to a non-profit.
