SP Firefighters Respond to Smoke Call at Downtown Yoga Studio

Yoga instructor Marcella Lincicome decided to hold her class outside after the group had to evacuate Hot Asana  Studio above the Sunrise Theater in downtown Southern Pines when smoke from a heating unit filled the studio. The class went on as scheduled while Southern Pines firefighters investigated the cause of the smoke, which was an overheated electrical heating unit.

Southern Pines firefighters responded this morning to the Hot Asana yoga studio this morning for a report of smoke.

"It was a heating unit ," said Southern Pines Fire Marshal John Stone. "It looks like the motor burned up in it."

There were no injuries and no smoke damage.

The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m.

Based on the picture, I think it was just the smoke'n hot bodies of the ladies.
