Regarding high prices for gasoline in the Pinehurst/ Southern Pines area, price fixing is a federal crime. It is difficult to prove, and big government tends to sue large violators.
Price fixing is not uncommon in small towns where violators think that they can get away with it. I am not suggesting price fixing in this area, but, where there is smoke, there might be fire.

Ok thats enough about this gas fixing crap. If you want lower gas then put people in power who will allow for a larger supply of petroleum and a reduction on gasoline taxes. Until you do just keep quiet.
PS. I bought gas for 2.97 about 3 weeks ago, now its about 3.69, I dont care if its a bit more expensive here, what I care about is that I am paying over 3 dollars for gas period.

Prices in Durham County are as high as Pinehurst/SP I agree with The AP. The only way prices will go down is for the US to open up oil-rich, Government owned areas and ease up the EPA restrictions. Of course, the only that will happen is when Nobama is removed from office in November.

Whether you call it "profiteering", "gouging", "supply and demand", "marketing" or as TAP says "crap" - the answer is simple, don't buy it at gas stations that charge higher prices.

Do you ever bother checking gas prices out any where else. I have seen gas prices in Fayetteville , Greensboro and Raleigh the past week, they are all about the same as ours. Even Sandford and Raeford.
