The Pinehurst Police Department provided the following information.

Reports

July 30: Female, 56, reported someone obtained funds by taking advantage of a male, 86, and a female, 82, during an incident at their home in the 300 block of Spring Lake Drive; Male, 70, reported someone removed an oxygen tank from a 2007 Cadillac parked at a home on Doral Drive.

July 31: Female, 54, reported someone removed pine straw without permission from property in the 200 block of Midland Road.

Aug. 1: Male, 46, reported that jewelry was possibly taken from a room at the Carolina Hotel, 80 Carolina Vista.

Aug. 2: Male, 59, of the 100 block of Spring Lake Road, reported that a known person forged his name on a check to obtain money.

Aug. 4: Officers responded to the Carolina Hotel, 80 Carolina Vista, for a report of damaged hotel property; Female, 86, reported someone entered a home in the 700 block of St. Andrews Drive after breaking a window; Officers responded to the Pinehurst Country Club Learning Center for a report of a broken window and the theft of assorted golf clubs.
