Purely Hate-Speech

Dwight Creech’s column (“Change Could Bring the Law of the Jungle,” April 22) is purely hate-speech.
Dwight should check out a bit more on the Levitican code. Eating shrimp is an “abomination” and playing or watching football (pigskin) is also an “abomination.”
I take it that Dwight also wears only cotton, for mixing material (nylon with cotton) is also an “abomination.”
I love people who pick and choose the Scriptures they want to use. In 1958, the following argument was used to prevent interracial marriage: “Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And but for the interference with his arrangement there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix.”
Later, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Loving vs Virginia that laws against interracial marriage were unconstitutional.
As a firearms instructor, Dwight should know that in World War II, not only were the Jews put in concentration camps, but also homosexuals, political prisoners, Jehovah’s Witnesses and antisocial prisoners.
North Carolina needs to have better civil laws rather than the “justice” Dwight is seeking.

Thanks for this. Hypocrites and bigots will keep spewing venom until they are called out for their objectionable opinion and behavior.

Thank you Charles. An excellent response.

I want to know where Mr Creech wants us to bring disobedient children to be stoned to death.

Other than demonstrating your hatred for Dwight Creech; what is the purpose of your rant? Mike

Ah, disagree equals rant. Things are different on the right-wing side of the street. I can see how their feelings are so easily hurt.

It's about what you want to take out of the Bible. If you followed it to the letter, women would be locked in homes and men would travel in packs of 12. The right will always rest their arms on religion. It's where they are comfortable, but not their strong suit.
