On Thursday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., the artists of Hollyhocks Art Gallery will hold their annual spring open house.
Deane Billings works mostly in watercolors and is well-known for her whimsical animals and beautifully detailed smaller pieces, perfect for gifts.
Diane Kraudelt, a longtime member of the gallery, is a multimedia artist whose strengths lie in eclectic subjects and vivid images of animals, landscapes and local interest.
Carolyn Love's work is delightfully reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth, and offers beach scenes, landscapes and more.
Looking for the perfect painting for your vacation home? Consider Sanford artist Carolyn Rotter's work of brightly painted boats, porch swings and vivid flowers. Not limited to paintings, the gallery also offers award-winning bronze equestrian sculptures by Morgen Kilbourn.
Owner Jane Casnellie, perhaps known more widely for her pet and animal portraits, will be on hand along with all the artists.
The event is open to the public and is free.
"Stop by, bring your friends, and enjoy the art along with specially selected wines courtesy of Elliott's on Linden," says a spokesman. "A great selection of appetizers and something to tempt the sweet tooth will also be offered."
The Gallery is located at 905 Linden Road in Pinehurst and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
