Gay Marriage Is an Abomination Before God

Special to The Pilot

On May 8, North Carolinians will be given an opportunity to vote concerning their view of marriage. This will be a watershed decision that will either keep in place our way of life or bring change that will radically alter our culture.

This brings us to the ultimate issue. Who decides what is right and wrong in life? The possibilities are as follows: God, the dictator, the individual, or the majority view.

If a person does not believe that the creator God has inspired and preserved his views of morality, then the burden of deciding such things is with the individual or group that wields the greatest force in implementing the view. Darwin had it right. Without God, the only thing left is the law of the jungle, "survival of the fittest."

In a world where people hold differing views in weighty matters, it helps when one can appeal to a source of authority that people of ordinary firmness can identify with and appreciate. There are some points of logic that cannot be refuted.

For instance, there are only two possible world views: God created us, or we have created God. These exhaust the possibilities concerning existence as we know it.

There are two other points of logic that cannot be refuted. Either God has spoken with a rigidly accurate and preserved word, or we must divine what he thinks in our own private way.

The latter may result in a self-styled Jesus, not necessarily the God of the Bible as he has revealed himself to be.

As one ponders the subject of homosexuality, it is needful to distinguish between the world views of these groups.

Some hold that God loves homosexuals and is tolerant of their lifestyle and teaches us to do the same. Would it be unkind to suggest that this is a projected view of God without biblical basis?

Consider the following: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: They shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." (Lev 20:13). The same judgment is stated in Leviticus 18:22.

The apostle Paul dedicated half of Romans Chapter 1 to this same issue, and it had not changed in 1,500 years.

The issue here is not whether God loves the homosexual. He obviously died for them. The issue is whether they love him enough to honor God's word. Paul said that they did not like to retain God in their knowledge and that they hated God. This is the real issue.

The Bible warns about -projecting our own views upon God. The following statement is found in Ps. 50:21, 22:

"These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes."

We have already outlawed God from our institutions. It naturally follows that the ACLU and those who embrace their political notions should want to legalize their own perceptions of righteousness.

God says homosexuality is an abomination. America is now saying to God, "Homosexuality is a legitimate lifestyle that should be respected."

This is change, and a -radical change of our way of life. It is not what we are changing into that made America the envy of the world. It is what we have abandoned that once made us the most powerful, caring nation in the world.

Many do not see this, but where we are headed is the jungle, where homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender, bestiality, pedophilia and any other conceivable behavior is a self-proclaimed right.

On May 8, you will have the opportunity to vote privately your conscience. If you are not offended when you see a man kissing a man, or two women kissing as lovers, then you will have opportunity to foster or oppose this lifestyle.

Your vote has ramifications that go far beyond the so-called right of those who choose this lifestyle.

Is this the kind of change you want? What kind of world do you want for your children and grandchildren?

In order to properly have a conversation on the issue of same-sex marriage, I think we need to define some terms first. I'd like to focus on your use of the word "lifestyle". You claim that "America is now saying to God, "Homosexuality is a legitimate lifestyle that should be respected."" I'm curious as to what you think comprises a lifestyle. One's sexuality, whether it be heterosexual or homosexual, does not preclude that person to living in a particular way. One can abide by religious principles, living a "Muslim lifestyle", one can eat certain foods, living a "vegetarian lifestyle", or one can assume a level of poverty or prosperity, but there is no such thing as a "homosexual lifestyle". If there was, would there also be an accompanying, opposite, "heterosexual lifestyle"? Is there only one proper way to be straight?

I think when you reword your phrase, the proper way to do so would be to claim that "Homosexuals are people that should be respected". And it's not just America that believes so, it's the majority of the developed world. There is no one way to "be gay", just as there is no one way to "be straight". Gay people work, pay taxes, raise families, contribute to the economy, eat, breathe, sleep, and die just like everyone else. I think all they're asking for is to be treated just like everyone else, and that includes being able to marry the one they love, and to begin living a "married lifestyle".

Thank you Mr. Creech!! Thank you! Spoken as if you've been inspired! Thank you! I'm am grateful for your article. One would think there is not much argument with what you've stated but you just wait, brace yourself, they will be here soon enough. And as you read their pleas for us to just embrace their cause just pray for their DELIVERANCE ! We see it, they do not. These are scary times and the left has truly fallen very deep. Thanks for speaking for the majority of us who will vote yes. Let the spin begin!

The United States of America is SECULAR Constitutional republic - you cannot discriminate against an entire segment of the population -> The 14th Amendment.

SH59 1 year, 1 month ago

There are two views on this subject in today's paper, both purporting to be the "truth" gleaned from the Bible. Tom Goergen discusses the love of Jesus and his teachings and this article represents the vengeful God of the Old Testament. One is love and one is hate. The Bible allows for interpretation and each person is able to find what they are looking for to support their personal views and unfortunately Mr. Creech is using his interpretation to support his own personal issues of disgust for the homosexual lifestyle and is trying to force it on the rest of us.

Dwight Creech,

You have demonstrated two things by writing this letter.

You are uncomfortable with gay people. You selectively use the bible to judge and discriminate against other people - two grave SINs.

Americans have the right to live their lives without others interfering with their family life.

There is an article in today's Pilot that I suggest you read. The Best Medicine: A Positive Attitude

Mr Creech an excellent letter, but on this particular subject " group that wields the greatest force in implementing the view." are the ones who will decide and fortunately the majority of North Carolinians aren't swayed by the "fad cause of the moment" and will support this Amendment to add one more layer of protection to legitimate marriage for our children and their children.

There is probably no one around who is more Conservative than I am but I have a question. You speak of your children. What if one of your children was Gay? One of my sons is Gay and you know what? He was born that way. We knew he was Gay by the time he could walk and talk. Are his feelings of love any less legitimate than my other children? No. To him his feelings are as natural as yours. And if two men or women love each other and want to spend their lives together, why is that anyone elses buisnessand please explain how that affects your life? Some claim homosexuality is a choice. When did you chose to be Heterosexual?

1

NOH8 1 year, 1 month ago

It still amazes me how the bible is used by certain people to justify their hate and bigotry without any thought of how these words affect people. Especially when they come from someone who is supposed to protect children...a principal. Do you have any idea the impact of your words on the children who are in your school who are realizing they are different? They are suffering internally wishing they could be attracted to the opposite sex because of the hate they internalize from people like you. They then have three choices, hide their feelings-live in fear and depression and find unsafe outlets, live their life openly and find support networks that allow them to grow or give into the hatred and fear by taking their own lives. These are the ONLY choices!

You use the bible to select passages to justify your hate, you do realize there are people in this country with other religious beliefs. We should not codify our laws based on religion, if you feel we should I suggest you take some time to examine life in Iran, Iraq, Dubai, etc where their laws are based upon the word of Islam. I'm sorry but I love having my freedoms and you are the one drving us down a slippery slope. I would also argue that there are plenty of passages in thethe bible hat you choose to ignore, unless you believe disobedient children should be stoned, eating shellfish is an abomination, do you need more.

I challenge you to put yourself in the shoes of a gay teen and a religous mother who drove her aon to suicide. Read or watch, prayers for Bobby. It might open your eyes to the power of words and hate, even when presented as "love" from god.

Too many things wrong with the author's thinking to address them all.

The National Library of Medicine scientific research publications all confirm that sexual orientation is natural, biologically induced in the first trimester of pregnancy, morally neutral, immutable, neither contagious nor learned, bearing no relation to an individual’s ability to form deep and lasting relationships, to parent children, to work, or to contribute to society. Sexual orientation and gender identity are like handedness: biological, unchangeable, innocent. We used to think left-handed was evil, as in “sinister” which comes from Latin for "left", force lefties to use their right hand, even though they never really changed handedness. Research reveals variable hormonal levels in the first twelve weeks of pregnancy permanently affect child’s neural circuitry for sexual orientation and gender identity to express on a spectrum between straight and gay, same or opposite gender. A little extra testosterone secreted from the adrenals during early pregnancy affects the baby girls’ brains causing nearly half to be lesbian, a tenth to be transgender. Also, a girl twin baby simply sharing the womb with a boy co-twin, in which some of his testosterone from his amniotic fluid gets into her blood, causes about one fifth of girl co-twins to be lesbian. These girls also have the bone structure and physical coordination of boys, so they are good in sports, and thus the stereotype.

0

KateOHanlanMD 1 year, 1 month ago

The opposite is also true: a bit less testosterone than usual in a boy's blood during early pregnancy can make him light in the loafers or transgender. If a boy's mother has delivered many older brothers before him, which caused her to make blocking antibody to their male proteins, then the youngest brother receives lower levels of testosterone in his blood, resulting in about one fifth of boys with many older brothers being gay. These boys have the physiology and verbal skills and excel in language and visual arts, slightly more like girls, and thus the stereotype. Most homosexuals and most heterosexuals will say that they had no choice to be how they are because they were born on the far ends of the spectrum. They firmly claim they were "born that way." But, some straight and gay folks feel it WAS and IS definitely a choice for them because they were born closer to the middle of the biological spectrum between straight and gay: they are bisexual. Their orientations don't change from straight to gay, they simply have brain wiring that attracts them to both. All orientation is hard-wired prenatally and none can change it. It is all biological and innocent, and not contagious or changeable.

0

KateOHanlanMD 1 year, 1 month ago

Rather than make gay rights a popularity contest, lets ask America’s best experts on family, mental health and children what the research shows is best for all American families. From the American Psychological Association: homosexuality is a normal sexual orientation; homosexual relationships are normal relationships. The American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, National Association of Social Workers, Child Welfare League of America, North American Council on Adoptable Children have endorsed civil marriage/adoption for same-sex couples because marriage strengthens mental, physical health and longevity of couples, and having two parents (of any gender) provides greater health, legal/financial security for children. Research confirms that children develop perfectly normally. Even the American Academy of Anthropology has issued a policy statement that says access to civil marriage by same-sex couples will not harm our social order. Visit the websites of these non-partisan, national professional and certifying associations for their policy statements. If we don't listen to professional experts on national family health and welfare, then we are simply voting our religious beliefs or personal bias into state and federal laws, and harming the families of gay and lesbian couples, especially those with children.

The apostle Paul dedicated half of Romans Chapter 1 to this same issue, and it had not changed in 1,500 years.

Mr. Creech, shows a pathetic understanding of translations and the Bible in this statement. Does he really think that the multitude of translations from Greek (which didn't even have a word for same sex relationships) to current English hasn't changed? I can refute his claim by pointing out that the word "homosexuality" did not even exist until the 1850s, so any translation that uses that word is in error. Any translation that uses that word does not reflect what was said 2000 years ago. The truth of the matter is that Mr. Creech wants to base his hate on a book that he really doesn't understand.

Lets be honest...Its not that someone is "gay". It is that they are having sex with someone of the same sex. If they are gay, but marry the opposite sex(and it does happen) no one has a problem, (except the gay person who is living a lie). What if a hetro couple is having anal or oral sex, is that a sin? Please answer......

This “Christian firearms instructor” opens this screed by citing a passage in the Bible that CALLS FOR THE DEATH OF HOMOSEXUALS.

What idiot was asleep at the wheel when it was decided to publish this dangerous crap?

And how many gay kids have killed themselves because of toxic rhetoric like this?

A little rebuttal to Mr. Creech, from Jesus - NOT PAUL.

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

See you in Hell, Creech.

If Amendment One was only about gay marriage, the writer may have a point in his own crazy mind.

But Amendment One bans civil unions, strips domestic partner benefits and has a host of other unknown consequences.

When and if a gay marriage amendment is on the ballot in NC, we can hear this writer's opinions.

Until then, his writing is completely off-base.

Vote AGAINST on Amendment One.

@native, Man cannot regulate sex. God does that in the CREATION OF THE BODY ! What's wrong with you people? And males can not conceive a human life, he does not have a womb! Without giving any details, are you people complete idiots?? A females body is DESIGNED to conceive by obvious means NOT ARTIFICIAL means. THAT'S WHY IS TAKES A MAAAAAN! I can not believe this topic is even being spoken. Same gender union is not natural Doctor whoever! VOTE YES!! Then, once that's settled, begin a protest to abolish homosexuality! Ha ha ha! Yes we can! Yes we can!

0

MemphisDrew 1 year, 1 month ago

so very much wrong with this...

1) NC already has protections against gay marriage...this is simply to slap the homosexual community in the face...nothing more. (remember, the Supreme Court can knock down ANY state law or amendment)

2) God has no place in our secular nation...if you don't like the separation of church and state...tell Thomas Jefferson and the US Supreme Court...their idea.

3) homosexuality is not a "lifestyle" any more than the "straight lifestyle"...you don't choose who you're going to fall in love with...if you're straight, did anyone tell you to like girls...or was it instinct? so why would it be different than anyone else?

4) why do the "jesus, jesus" types always compare being gay to pedophelia and bestiality? kids cannot consent to sex, they are too young to understand their own sexuality...thus why pedophilia is nothing like two consenting adults having sex with each other...animals do not have the ability to understand their sexuality, and thus cannot consent to sex...again, this stuff is pretty simple.

5) someone said i don't mind gay people...i just don't like thinking about people having sex with the same gender...WHY ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVING SEX? i'm gay and i don't go around thinking about what you straight folks do in you bedrooms...you know why...i don't care...it doesn't involve me...i only ask you give me the same respect and stay out of my business.

Mr Creech -- I wish to commend you for your dogged insistence that the law of God be obeyed. Only by following the word of the Lord can and will our country be saved.

But I was just wondering, God commands homosexuals be put to death by stoning but you failed to mention that. He also establishes the same punishment for not keeping the Sabbath, and God knows that there are almost as many folks breaking that commandment as there are homosexuals. I suggest we begin next Sunday by raiding every WalMart, dragging every employee there into the parking lot and executing them according to God's word. Glory!

Then again, there's all those divorced folks who have remarried. You're not remarried are you Mr. Creech? That would truly be unfortunate because that would be adultry and the punishment for that is, you guessed it, death. Oh dear, where to begin in fulfilling the Lord's expressed wishes?

But you know what Mr. Creech? I suspect you would not support stoning your neighbors or friends who have divorced and remarried, or those folks over at the WalMart either. Frankly, I don't even think you would want to begin executing homosexuals, would you?

Given your hesitancy then to really get down to the Lord's work, I have a suspicion: I seriously doubt you really believe every word of God as recorded in Leviticus should apply today, or even does apply today. Am I right?

Of course I am, but you know what that means Mr. Creech? That means you are not actually a true believer in "God's word", are you? No Mr. Creech, what you really are is a hate-spewing, homophobic jerk. Now go crawl back into that 12th century hole you emerged from to write your awful screed.

The problem with the discourse here is as such. We as Americans overall have no issue with Gay people. We also over all profess to believe in GOD but don't bother to follow any of his teachings unless those teachings give us some way to hoard power over someone else.

Over the course of American history we have corrected our bad mistakes, We have ended slavery, given women the right to vote, ended segregation, given equal protection under the law( The 14th Amendment was never ratified and is actually a non existent amendment used by the courts, while the idea holds merit the actual amendment is unconstitutional.)

Now we as Americans will rectify this absurd notion that there is a section of our population that can be denied the rights that other Americans enjoy based on sexual orientation.

If, in fact, homosexuality is an “abomination” before God that, by definition, will cast the “abominators” into hell for eternity, why are so many people, who believe this, so determined to prevent homosexuals from enjoying the benefits of love while they’re still here on earth? What is it with the religious right that they require immediate punishment on earth rather than waiting for God’s judgment?

Kinky Friedman, musician, failed gubernatorial candidate and humorist from Texas, is credited with saying, “Gays and Lesbians should be allowed to get married legally…they have the perfect right to be just as miserable as the rest of us.”

In a world where the “Sanctity of Marriage” has become a joke (Google: Kim Kardashian, Newt Gingrich, Liz Taylor, The Donald…do I have to go on?) the last thing any group of people who love each other and express the desire to be legally married is to tell them “NO”.

Dr. O'Hanlan: I think your excellent scientific explanation should be printed as a booklet and made available to all who do not understand gender chemistry. Surely the naysayers cannot refute these sources/references. Facts are facts. We trust medical decisions when we need treatment or surgery. Why argue now? ..and these words to the Creech-ers: Are you moved to tears, looking up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel or standing before the incredibly loving and compassionate Pieta within St. Peter's? What about The Last Supper, painted on a church wall in Milan? Their creators, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci were openly gay men. As for "lifestyle" differentials....would you deny the family with a crippled child a ramp to the front door, a lift into the van? What if the mother and father had to work in shifts to care for the child, creating a schedule unlike your own? Unfortunately, this is a circular discussion, with no end possible.

It is so interesting to see the reaction to Mr. Creech’s letter. It seems that some of you are every bit intolerant of a view that you disagree with as you accuse Mr. Creech of. You can’t deny that the quotes Mr. Creech stated are in the Bible. Those scripture have been in The Bible before America was a nation. Mr. Creech didn’t write those words.

If you knew your scriptures you would know Jesus Christ never taught Mr. Creech or anyone else to hate or harm someone who has chosen to reject the clear teachings of scripture. But, the scripture did teach that Christians are to warn folks what the Bible teaches. So, are you accusing Christians of hate because they choose to obey the Bible and its teachings, or is it God who you accuse?

The Bible is clear on the teaching about homosexuality and the judgment to follow. Would it not be “hate”, if Mr. Creech failed to warn about what God has said in His word? Would it not be “hate” for Christians to fail to warn of eternal judgment to come?

The Bible calls homosexuality a sin among other things. It’s the calling of Christians to teach and warn of sin and its consequences. The Bible is a Christians Authority; I understand many so called “Christian” leaders disagree with the Bible on a great many things, but that changes nothing. You of course have the right to reject it, Just in case you didn’t know there will be an accounting. Read it for yourself. Mr. Creech was just stating the obvious, and many hate him for saying it. But the fact remains God is the judge, and he has already judged, by grace he is holding off executing the sentence. Mr. Creech was just trying to encourage people of faith, don’t just stand there, put feet to what you say you believe, and go vote for FOR the amendment.

0

jshuey 1 year, 1 month ago

@geozap --

Of course Mr. Creech didn't write those words, but he was very selective as to which ones he chose to emphasize.

To put things in perspective, those words were written by cattle-sacrificing, bronze-age primitives, who, among other things, also believed that demons caused disease, bats were birds, the earth was flat, and that every animal on the planet lived within easy walking distance of Noah's house.

Oh, and geozap, America came into existence in 1776, the Old Testament was written between 3500 and 1500 BC. Yes, that was before America was a nation. Good catch.

Good post Geozap....Mr. Creech apparently has lost 1st Ammendment rights because he has Christian upbringing and principles; or at the least his opinions are critically scorned because of it. The hatred for his personal Christian values and beliefs are disturbing. Mr Creech shared some life experiences with me and some others one day some time ago. It basically was his personal experiences of growing up as a young boy during the 1950's and 1960's versus growing up today. It concerned many things; but home, family, life and personal value structure was the meat of it. I could easily relate as I am not much younger than Mr. Creech. Argue and deny all you like, but the continual degradation of religious structure in our society has caused a great loss of the moral compass which normally guides not only adults, but youth as well. Without such a bearing which defines right vs wrong; we experience escalating chaos and crime in our society. ....Mike

0

katimae 1 year, 1 month ago

REGARDLESS of how you feel about homosexuality - the amendment is WRONG for our state. People are free to worship God however they choose - as long as they are not harming others. When your worship and beliefs directly and negatively impact the lives of other productive citizens, and lead to statements of persecution and even threats of bodily harm, then you have crossed a line. You may be hateful and intolerant all you like, but you may not use law to tell others how to exist as a moral being. Believe what you will, live your life the way you want. But you MAY NOT take away the rights of other people who don't agree with you. As a Christian and an educator, Mr. Creech, I would expect that one of your life purposes is to bring others to the Word, to help others understand the teachings of Jesus. Hatred, intolerance, judgement of others, these were all things that Jesus fought against. Teach love, teach inclusion, teach forgiveness-and maybe someday your students will be adults in a just, peaceful, and caring world community.

Just for the record, I would be careful about blindly accepting what has been posted here by Dr. Kate O’Hanlan. I suspect the beliefs she has expressed are far from universally held within the medical and scientific community.

Dr. O’Hanlan is indeed a doctor, who practices between San Fancisco and San Jose, CA. She is a lesbian, a gay activist and a past president of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. So an impartial observer she is not.

Google her name and you will find as much information about her as you want. The link below is an example.

So Mr. Creech what is divorce in your opinion? What about heterosexual's who abandon their families for another? You have a point of view out of medieval europe. What is wrong with gay people wanting to visit their loved ones in the hospital and to legally leave someone as their inheritor? If you want to defend marriage then heterosexuals need to start treating it with sanctity. If you don't and just want to focus on homosexual relationships then you may want to look in a mirror and ask WWJD? Jesus never said anything about who you can and can't marry. He only spoke on divorce.

0

debsalomon 1 year, 1 month ago

What's wrong with Dr. O'Hanlan not being an "impartial observer?" Were the African-Americans who marched for their civil rights impartial observers? Were women who demanded sufferage impartial observers? You will never get scientists to agree totally on any research findings. But if even part of Dr. O'Hanlan's information is are accurate, it is powerful and worth consideration, especially when American citizens' life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is at stake.

I agree completely with Mr. Creech on this. We as Christians cannot compromise on truth. 2+2 will always equal 4, and us "tolerating" an answer of 3 will result in chaos for everyone. I will stand firm on the unchanging Truth of God's Word. If I'm to be hated by men for His sake, so be it. I count it an honor.

For the record, I absolutely disagree with the intent and spirit of Mr. Creech's letter, and I ask these question: If you knew someone to be gay, and they somehow "decided" to "not be gay" any longer, then decided to marry your daughter, how would that make you feel? Are you attracted to ALL women? I assume not. Just as I am not attracted to all men. Just as gay men/women are not attracted to all men/women. You just look arrogant.

I am definitely NOT a conservative. However, perhaps you conservative thinkers who are going to vote yes on this amendment should take a moment out of your day to read the following written by the President and Vice President for for family studies at the Institute for American Values...

MikeNC, the first amendment only applies to government censorship. We citizens are not bound by that restriction. I hope that this clears up your misconception.

We are free to tell the haters to take their talk somewhere else. Anyone who eats shrimp or wears blended fabrics has exactly zero to say about Leviticus and gays.

We are the United States of America! We have the freedom of religion. You cannot push your religious views on anyone. Sorry if you thought you could, but read the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. With this in mind, try another argument.

Next, who would choose to be gay? When did you choose to be heterosexual? I didn't think you choose it. So therefore, would it not make since that homosexuals did not choose their sexual orientation either? Come on!

Principal Creech- Well said brother. This is a simple test by God, we either pass or fail. It's time for us as Christians to stand up for God and let our YES be YES and our No's be No. God's word is not open for interpetation and I see a lot of lost people who commented on here who want to put their own spin on how God's word applies or doesn't apply to them. I'm on the side of truth, I'm not judging anyone, I'm simply standing on God's truth. One day every tongue will confess and every knee shall bow to the Lord. Romans 14:11

I believe...that anyone, whom bases the way they treat another human being on what a very old book may or may not have said ( based purely on interpretation) is an abomination. May it be a wonderful day when those who believe in what has started this fire have a child born to their family who is gay and I can only hope that they have the heart to say that they are wrong. We shall see...

I also would like to say that I think Mr. Creech needs to watch more Dateline NBC to learn about which century we are in...

Had to share.........My 14y old son said to me tonight, "Mom let them have the word marriage, it's just too bad for them that they will NEVER, EVER be able to have HOLY MATRIMONY!!
Ha!

Anyone know the Pastafarian view on same-sex marriage - I would assume they have no issue with it. If so, I'm with them.

One reader posted "The National Library of Medicine scientific research publications all confirm that sexual orientation is natural, biologically induced in the first trimester of pregnancy, morally neutral, immutable, neither contagious nor learned, bearing no relation to an individual’s ability to form deep and lasting relationships, to parent children, to work, or to contribute to society. Sexual orientation and gender identity are like handedness: biological, unchangeable, innocent."

If this is true, why aren't you people that are gay or supporter of the gay lifestyle upset about the "HATE " crime against the gay fetus (all fetuses are babies) being aborted (murdered)?

Sad to see Mr. Creech and his merry band of Bible thumpers once again selectively taking quotes from the Bible to justify their narrow minded hate. You will have to answer for these actions some day.

sneakdeac 16 hours, 9 minutes ago .. I don't care to use the same restroom as gays any more than a woman would care to use the same restroom as men. I also would not want my son going to the same restroom as gays

That makes me curious...Would homosexual men (and there are some self proclaimed ones here reading) actually visit a men's room looking for a mate? I have read such things and watched the same on news stories.....Mike

;) Putting aside the design flaw issue, let's focus on how caring and nurturing your god is! Thou shalt not ____ unless if it serves your own purposes whatever they may be. Need to start little war every once in awhile? No worries! May we all view the world free of religious dogma long enough to truly see for the first time.

@MikeNC

You are a king among haters. Your bigoted world view reflects poorly on the people of this state. It saddens me that neighbors are more worried about what someone does in their bedroom than other pertinent issues. IT IS 2012. Please realize that antiquated views do not have a place in modern times. Women can vote, Jim Crow is gone, Poll taxes removed, AND EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL CITIZENS SHOULD BE SOUGHT AFTER! Would you not be upset if you could not visit Diane in a hospital? How about how this bill screws up insurance for single moms whose husbands enjoyed marriage so much they went for another round with someone else? There are legal problems among ethical ones brought on by this bill.

Who are you people that say you are conservative? Eisenhower, Goldwater, Reagan all would be ashamed of today's Teapublican party.

0

MikeNC 1 year ago

@ JD....The bill is very simple with a couple dozen easily understood words. No trickery other than that brought forth from folks like you and others. You guys bring out all the boogeymen that the bill has nothing to do with. Let us examine all the wordage in your past posts and all of mine; and see just who the King of Haters really is....Mike

Well said Mr Creech:) Vote for Amendment one on May 8th:)

Early voting is going on right now Joe...Mike

0

Quite right Mike, again early voting at the Agricultural center in Carthage. And if you don't vote early then vote on May 8th for Amendment 1.

@MikeNC

Didn't answer my question. Stop dodging and man up MickeyBoy. Would you be sad if you could not visit your significant other in the hospital? And do you not care how this will affect single mothers? The simplicity makes it vague in other legal areas. So answer the questions.

@ JD....Put up some factual concrete information and not your hearsay, opinions and surveys from talking heads and politicians of what could or would or might happen.

You have about a two sentance, simple to understand bill here which lets generously say is 5% of one page. Obamas health care is 2,000+ full pages. How about we play what if and take surveys of where that will lead. If you cannot wrap your brain around two simple sentances without going into all this drama; stay home and don't vote. How can we ever expect to vote on anything to get anything accomplished in our government if this miniscule bill invokes all this rant? It's up for the entire state populace to vote and decide this issue fair and square; what's your problem with that? Mike

It's a shame that such a bigoted, twisted character has the potential to influence our kids in an environment that should be teaching God's love. He is the ultimate fraud!!

In the final analysis, we are confronted with the notion that 96% of the population of North Carolina are expected to change the criteria that has defined marriage and the family for 5000 years. Why we should change that to accommodate the passing deviant fads of 4% of the population has not been convincingly argued. The tortured logic that contrives to fabricate so-called 'rights' in this matter cannot stand up to an examination of the US Constitution. North Carolinians will underwrite that reality on Primary Election day.

That about sums it up as briefly and concisely as the bill itself NCKen....Thanks for some level headness around here...Mike

JD-- I'm always amused by a liberal that claims Eisenhower, Goldwater, and Reagan "could not be elected today," or, as you say, "would be ashamed" of today's Republican Party. You did not, and would never, support any of the three, now or then. Of course, I could counter that Jimmy Carter would never support your ideas. But the reality is, he would. You have no power to declare what Reagan would want. You hated Reagan then, and you hate him now. And I will vote NO to this amendment. Why? Because I want to, and because Reagan would encourage me to vote the way I see it, as a Christian. Republicans, unlike Democrats, don't demand lock-step positions. Don't try to speak for Reagan, and I won't try to speak for Carter on your behalf.

990 had the nerve to interupt my listening of the Dennis Miller show. Some guy on there is droning on and on about how he witnessed someone stop their van and steal a vote no sign. He got the tag number, called the cops and is miffed that they haven't arrested anyone. He even goes on to reveal the tag number and vehicle description over the air. Seems inappropriate. Like myself however, my guess is the other 2 listeners weren't really interested. I just thought that was kind of wierd.

And for my conservative friends here, vote the way you want to. I have made my position here on homosexuality as clear as I can. I am a Christian. I am a sinner. Homosexuality is a sin. So are my sins of lust, envy, etc. I am in no position to judge anyone. God does not love me more than them, or you. I believe that you should vote the way you see it.
