A Carthage man faces a felony larceny charge in connection with a recent theft of lawnmowers and chainsaws.

The Moore County Sheriff's investigators on April 12 arrested Christopher Scott Koch, 37, of the 300 block of Holly Ridge Road, Carthage, and also charged him with possession of stolen goods after they received a report on April 9.

On April 9 Marvin Frye reported to the sheriff's office that someone stole four rebuilt lawmowers and three chainsaws from an area near his shop in West End, according to the Sheriff's office.

Koch received a $7,500 secured bond with a first appearance in Moore County District Court on April 26, 2012.

Hey what do you know, there is that innocent old hoodie again! Even the white criminals wear them.

After the theft, he tried to cut and run, pretending he was Blade Runner..

Well, he did a great job on the landscaping at my house, very reasonably priced.

Really? I wasn't aware that rednecks were the only ones to steal lawnmowers. Please explain.

If lawnmowers are outlawed, only outlaws will have lawnmowers.

"If lawnwowers are outlawed, only outlaws will have lawnmowers"Thatcher. Is there some secret meaning to that statement or are you just trying to get some needed attention?

0

Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago

Good Lord, cantstandya! There is no "secret meaning." It was a joke. And I'm not trying to get any "needed attention." Are you sure you are a conservative?

cantstandya 1 year, 1 month ago

Good Grief,Thatcher! Just asking, did not realize you had a sense of humor, actually I am for the White Supremacy Party not really affiliated with any particular group.

So let me see if I've got this right. A white guy in a hoodie commits a crime but does not use a gun and there are a series of humorous postings about it. Whereas, a black guy in a hoodie commits a crime USING a gun results in the postings being full of hate, fear and revenge. The conclusion I draw is that it's the freaking GUN that must be the difference in the reaction. Either that or some of us are racist. Guess the solution is to have severe penalties for committing crimes using a gun and enforce them.

It doesn't matter if black, white, red or green. The charges and offenses are two ends of the spectrum. There is a big difference between larceny and armed robbery, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. People need to drop the hoodie reference. It's getting old! Either way, they should both pay their dues accordingly, fitting to the degree of their crime.

JER-does petty theivery and shooting someone in the back have equal relevance in your mind? In one crime an innocent young man could have died. the other crime is a property crime. Why do you lefties always try to infuse race where it doesn't fit.

0

cantstandya 1 year, 1 month ago

fugitiveguy,Difference is the lawnmower bandit did not shoot anyone in the back, and if you look at the crime rate and severity of crimes committed with weapons there is a infusion of race being involved in those statistics, there are many more crimes involving certain ethnic groups with weapons than others, denial will not make that percentage go down, owning up to that fact and dealing with it will, criminals and victims come in all races but in this area it seems that those numbers are being led by one certain group, just take the time to research arrest records in our surrounding counties and then respond if you are so inclined to,I fail to see what is so racist when stating what facts confirm, many of these criminals feel protected since they are defended as being racially profiled when questioned,if their own would get involved in support instead of rallying around those involved it would help to abolish this racial division.

cantstandya-I was refuting a point made by JER, as far as what I think you are trying to say, you are preaching to the choir

fugitive guyYou are so right,as it seems to fall on deaf ears, probably best thing for myself and others to do is load and lock, sit and wait.

I'm going to start walking around in my Navy sweatshirt with the hood up.......you can all bite me! :)

0

cantstandya 1 year, 1 month ago

FightFireWithFire,You have a false sense of importance,as anyone really would care if you wear your hood up and as far as biting you, well I would leave that to my dogs, they love alittle snack and that is probably all you would amount to,a small snack.

JER (17 hours, 41 min. ago)-- Yes, I joked on this thread, but only because (a) no one was harmed, (b) the perp was caught, and (c) the stolen property will be returned. I can only speak for myself, but my joke had nothing to do with race. And cantstandya, your post about belonging to the "White Supremacy Party" is perhaps redundant, based upon your prior posts. Yes, I have a sense of humor. No, I don't find racist posts funny. On this, I am not sorry that we disagree. Be well JER!

@Thatcher,Please lighten up,you are entitld to your way of thinking as I am in mine, you continually bash those that you find offensive but when it comes back to you then you go on this crusade,I am not a conservative as you so graciously asked, you have criticized my inablitty to punctuate properly, what I am is a 65 year old man who has seen enough to have opinions and can care less if they offend anyone or if they are in agreement with anyone,we would both would be the wiser to ignore one another .

0

Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago

cantstandya-- You may have me confused with someone else. I haven't criticized your punctuation. I have not bashed anyone here, including you. Yes, I have called you out on racist comments, but that is not "bashing." As for your being 65 years old, that is wonderful news! It means you have lots of years ahead of you to reconsider and reflect upon your stated views. I hope you do so.

Thatcher,Peace, and good health to you,as we all grow older as do we get wiser, chances are I may have a little work to do on my racist attitude, but it will have come when I see some positive progress made by others that have brought me to this point,I only remark on what I see and read and as of yet see little in the way of some of these organizations doing much to bring positive change when it comes to those they make claim to represent, the Florida incident for example could have been handled much better by all involved and when the threats from the Black Panther party it just reminded me of how nothing has changed and the reminder of the 60's came back as if it had never left, but enough said and wish you well.

0

Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago

cantstandya-- Thanks for the kind comments. For what it's worth, the Black Panthers, while certainly racists, represent only a small portion of the African-American community (same as the KKK is a fringe white group). If I may, let me make a suggestion: you are 65 years old, obviously intelligent, and have more life experience than many here. Have you ever thought of tutoring underprivileged kids (black, white, hispanic, etc.)? The way I see it, if you deal one-on-one with a kid, you might see them as an individual and not as part of a group. You could really help these kids. And they could help you, too. Be well!
