The Moore County Chamber of Commerce brings back a bounty of lagers for its annual Festival of Beers on Saturday, May 19.

Some of the best beer makers in the nation, both local breweries and major distributors, are participating in this event at the Southern Pines Elks Lodge.

Only in its third year, the festival has quickly become one of the region's most anticipated events. Both connoisseurs and novices appreciate the diversity of flavors and the unique opportunity to sample beers side by side.

"The Festival of Beers is unique in that you'll see people of all ages at a single event, all bonding over the burst of flavors," says Patrick Coughlin, president and CEO of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce. "Moore County is distinctive in that we have quality beer from our own community holding its own against major distributors."

All guests at the Festival of Beers receive a commemorative pils-ner glass. Live music provides entertainment, and food is available for purchase from local restaurants. Safety is a top priority; a designated driver and taxi booth ensures the wellbeing of all guests.

The Festival of Beers is at the Southern Pines Elks Lodge from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. Tickets are $25 in advance (available at the Moore County Chamber of Commerce or online at the website www.moorecountychamber. com) and $30 at the door.

Because of the popularity of the event, the Chamber urges advance ticket purchase.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this crowd-pleasing event that drew 500 people last year.
